Yuusaku seems to be the type who is willing to let his son do things his way, so yeah I'd say he prefers more of the 'practical, throw you in the deep end' method of learning. He's also had ample opportunity to get involved more with taking down the BO, but he's chosen so far to take more of a "Call a Friend" role for his son. Yukiko has probably done more than Yuusaku when all is said and done. Because of that, I don't think Yuusaku would overtly take on the BO or even do much to make 'war'. He's a novelist and does detective work more as a hobby, but he's never professed to be anything more than that.
Basically, I agree with doublexxcross. I think Yuusaku would step in and try to help as much as he can if he thought it would make a difference or to protect his son, but he still wouldn't do much personally in terms of actual 'fighting' (like going sniping with Akai, cause lol). I think a lot of it comes down to him wanting to respect his son's wishes.

Question: Do you think Ai would take the APTX antidote at the end of the series? (Assuming that the Black Org has been dealt with and put behind bars, so there's no immediate threat in regards to being identified as Shiho; also that there are no additional side-effects of the APTX like never aging or other health issues) A straightforward choice - continue to live on as Haibara Ai, or restart her life as Miyano Shiho? Thoughts?
I'm sure there must already be some forum discussion or even an impassioned blogpost about this somewhere out there, but unfortunately my online sleuthing skills are failing me. If you do know of where to find some good arguments on this topic, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could link me to them as well.

I personally think she won't, because she's gotten too comfortable with her new identity, and there's nothing for her to go back to as Shino - she actually has friends and Agasa-hakase and a proper childhood as Haibara Ai. Legal concerns could be easily resolve with the help of the FBI i reckon and she hasn't shown signs that she doesn't like to live as a kid, like Shinichi, since she pretty much act like an adult anyway.
So ya, i don't think she will
