*shuffles feet nervously and delurks*
It's already November, I know, but I hope it's not too late to join!
Goal: Write at least 100 words everyday. I know it's an embarrassingly small goal compared to everyone else, but I'm not exactly the most prolific of writers, and I want to get into the habit of writing more often.
Title: Kilometer Zero
Synopsis: Rei's early days in Japan, essentially.
Rating: K/G, not sure. Might go up, but will not go beyond T/PG-13.
Main Characters: Furuya Rei and Miyano Elena (Still deciding whether Rei meets Scotch in this.)
Notes: Depending on how canon pans out, some parts or the entirety of this fic may either be canon compliant or a canon-divergence AU. Here, Rei's MI6 parents are mysteriously killed, he ends up in Elena's care, and they end up moving to Japan from the UK. Elena and Mrs. Furuya are sisters because I'm honestly still hoping the hint toward Mary and Elena being sisters is one giant red herring.
The basic idea behind this fic has been festering in my mind since last year, but I only started writing this last month--just a few scenes here and there. I'm still working out on a lot of the details, so I'm not sure whether this'll be a oneshot or something longer. To be honest, I'm actually scared it may become a multichapter because, in all likelihood, I may never finish it.
I won't be writing this fic linearly (because some parts are easier to write and need less research than others), so I'm not going to set a certain number of chapters--if this ever becomes a multichapter--to be finished by the end of this event. Considering how I not normally don't write on a regular basis (and I've been struggling with my writing for the past several years), I'll be happy just to be able to write a little bit everyday.

No goal is small, Randezvous! Just writing 100 words a day is not small feat and it means you are getting somewhere

Oooh, that sounds super interesting. And 100 words a day is all good! It's more than what I achieve half the time.

Week 2 Status: 4k/25k words
Meant to get a good work session done last night, but got derailed by multiple conversations with my mom and the purchasing of a large piece furniture for my rather barren house. That, and I was rather lazy over the weekend. Kaito and Shinichi are finally formally introduced, and poor Kaito has a panic attack triggered by something Shinichi said. *sigh* I can't ever seem to give Kaito the break he sorely needs. Poor baby. Poor babies. I'm terrible to all of the boys. -.-;;;

Let me just say that I'm rooting for all of you! Great job guys! And each story sounds awesome! I can't wait to read them when/if they're posted.

Week 2 update I had 0 progress this week and it wasn't for the lack of ideas, it's trying to put pen to paper (figuratively). Though I did manage to squeeze in like 300 words written (for the whole week...that's so...urgh).
And my 'Snow White' is not yet in the forest! (at least I've now introduced my magic mirror) I think I may have set my goal too high...

What Cesela said. Plus, you can't force your writing cuz most of the time you won't like what's written in the end. Have hope and don't discourage yourself. There's no such thing as a goal too high.

I don't think I'll get done anything else during this time due to my exams. So I'll just put something easy as my goal: GOAL: Finish writing and posting Sound of Silence within this month: because every time I think I'm done I keep adding scenes and rewriting things (and I still have more I want to change/add and it's taking over my life).
I originally wrote this story last month, but it's already grown 8k past when I thought I was *done*, and I just want to finish the whole project before I go crazy.
Synopsis: It's a post-Conan work, where Shinichi struggles with the return back to being Shinichi, especially when he is still pinning after Ran - who fell out of love with him and instead fell in love with Ran, and he has to watch while they become a couple. Not to mention that he has a limp and a cane due to torture afflicted to him by Gin during his time as a captive, and he dislikes how people tend to look at him different and how every one is pitting him and coming to the wrong conclusion about his personal life.
Pairings: Ran x Sera, and eventually Shinichi x Kaito
Genre: Angst and hurt/comfort
Length: Currently 35K is already posted - the first 4 chapters. There are three more planned (+ maybe an extra I have written but not decided whether I want to post or not). It's currently around 50K, but its most likely to be around 55-60K by the time I'm fully satisfied.
Rating: T/M ? Mostly for some suggestive mature content like mention of torture and mention of adult content.
I'm trying to post once a week, and will be posted on my FFN and AO3 account.

Update:
I have got about 500 words written for the next chapter of Switched.
Non-DCMK fandom: About 2500 words for my AtLA epic, and about 10,000 for a silly crack fic I have been writing.
Poor Switched. I need to give it more love.

That's great you guys! You've got this! (I think I made myself your official cheerleader. And I like the role!)
Wish I was a writer so I could join in but then again it's better that I'm not :'D I have a truly weird imagination. Though that's the way I like it honestly so hmmmm....

There is no such thing as a weird imagination, twinborn! It just mean you will come up with truly extraordinary ideas. Everyone can be a writer, so don't sell yourself short. I firmly believe if you gave it a try, you'd be able to come up with something fantastic!

Thank you so much! 😳 I did try it once a couple of years ago and I think what I wrote was decent. Had my friends check it and they liked it. Though they're my best friends so it's debatable if it was actually any good Anyway I said here somewhere here that I lack consistency and I act in bouts of frenzy. I'll get so pumped about something, obsess over it, have it take over my whole life then move on when the novelty ends or when something else strikes my fancy. And that was the case with that piece of writing. I think I managed to write 2000 in one sitting. And I'm not sure if you'd think it impressive but to me it was pretty pretty impressive. I shocked myself that day Maybe I Will do it. I really want to. But I don't like disappointing myself so I'd hate to post a goal but then do nothing about it.

Oh no, 2000 words are more than impressive, Twinborn! We all work in different tempo here: some like Mikau can produce thousands a day, and Boo can barely get out a few hundred words. They are both amazing writers regardless! It's not about the quantity or necessarily the quality: but the passion behind the words. No group pressure here, it's all about your own feelings on the matter This event and the contest here is all about fun and stretching our imagination. Sometimes you manage to finish a writing for something, and other time they fall through. So no pressure to write anything, in Detective Conan, or other works. It's all just for fun after all!
