So... I dunno if I've ever brought this up to anyone in the forum, but... I'm a sucker for shorts, there, I said it! ... Short... short films, I mean. It partly has something to do with how my short film making class affected me. That, and not to mention Pixar and all those people who make animated shorts real well. There's something about them. They have a charm about them that's super different from full-length movies and series. They can tell stories in a short amount of time, whether or not they contain actual speaking lines, they've got awesome BGMs most of the time, they can evoke thought and provoke emotions... something which one unknowingly signs up for once they come in contact with them. Bottomline, shorts are magical... and I'm obsessed with them for the longest time, so... Can people help me put them in one place? It doesn't matter where they're from, in which country it originated, or who produced them, or whether or not they're animated. I wanna watch more short films!~ Let the thought-evoking and emotion-provoking begin! ^^ Plus, they may or may not inspire plunnies along the way. That'll be good for our fanfics, right? Okay, I'll start. Here's something I found through those ads that pop-up while watching YT vids. It's a short by Cornetto UK, a part of their Cornetto Cupidity shorts, Kismet Diner! What can I say about this? It's fluff, romance and ice cream rolled in one, that thing that makes you go "awww". And if you judge it only by its name, you'll know it's about destiny... And if you know Cornetto, you'll know it's sweet, much like this baby... :3 (oh, also, let us not forget to put which genre the shorts fall into. Tragedy, Horror, Romance, Fluff, Mystery, whichever!~ For as long as it's thought-evoking and emotion-provoking, please share them. I need them in my life. We need them for inspiration, probably...)

Now here's an animated short entitled Alma. It's French, I think...?
Don't let its jumpy-friendly-sounding BGM fool ya. I classify this under Thriller/Horror/Mystery. A bit of a warning for those who do not like or freaked out by porcelain dolls...
Have fun! *creepy laughter*

Whooo, that last one was weird XDD I don't like dolls, mostly because I don't like death and dolls can sometimes look reaaaaaaaally realistic, but still be... you know... dead... ish? Either way, I have a bad habit of not heeding warnings ^^ Luckily this short animation wasn't that scary.
I've always liked this one btw. It's really beautiful, judging by their speech. It's really beautiful and sad though, but the music is absolutely amazing ^^

(yesh! I agree with you about the dolls. Dolls made out of porcelain, in particular is probably the only type of doll I always find haunting and... creepy and... fragile. It's like, it can hold a soul inside *reference to the Japanese and souls trapped in dolls*)
Not just the music! EVERYTHING about that last one is striking! The colors, the art... wow, that was... breathtaking! It felt like it came out from a video game cutscene, but better! This one makes people go on a feel trip!
Hm, I feel like there's some sort of hidden message there that I still haven't grasped yet, though...

Jup, jup, definitely XS
Usually these short movies have a hidden message or deeper meaning, but I wouldn't know for this one.
One last one for today though. I saw this one just now (damnit Quincy, now I started watching all kinds of short movies again... yes, I admit I'm procrastinating from studying...) and I'm really curious what you guys think about this one. I was also thinking about writing a fanfiction about it. Don't know which characters to choose though...

I'M CRYING!!! But no tears are coming out, yet... I'M CRYING T^T This is really sad and beautiful and what that poison flower said in the beginning is spot-on!
Oh geez, nooo! T^T
Okay anyways, apparently that last one I posted is not horror enough compared to this one... (strong warning for domestic violence and attempted... uh, attempted child abuse and... murder... and scary horror stuff. It's not yet past one week since Halloween *smirks*) The animation alone is scary enough as it is... see how the story ends...
Perhaps I should put this inside a spoiler thingy... Should I?

ahehehe... Okay, this time a not scary one. This one brought me to tears when I rewatched it a few minutes ago, actually. It's part of Nestle Philippines's 100th anniversary, part of the "Kasambuhay Habambuhay" Anthology ("Kasama sa buhay, habambuhay" roughly translates to "Your companion in life, forever"), another short film collection. This one's called Downtown, set in Chinatown, and it's about an old half-Chinese(or full? I'm not sure) man who... uh, yeah, watch and find out

I cannot! Can somebody please stop me! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! I can't find the way out!!! XDDD
I found another one! This time, an Indonesian Comedy about a boy named Joshua. Haha, it's a pre-teen story, and it's really fun to watch since they're super innocent and quirky!~
There's a random kid blowing bubbles, some kind of sidekick who always picks his nose and a cranky gym teacher who likes marbles! It's diabetes in every frame (and it's produced by Diabetes Pictures, they say)! XD
LOL, and if you don't want to see who played who, skip to 10:09 after the school scenes...

Ohh short films are great. I remember a few nice ones, let's see if I can dig up the links...
Here's one that my brother showed me a few years ago. The Lost Thing: A boy finds a strange creature on a beach, and decides to find a home for it in a world where everyone believes there are far more important things to pay attention to.
Numbers: Saw this one a while back, and it's about a world where people see numbers above other people's heads, and they can mean a bunch of different things. The ending is kind of ... bittersweet? This is the official description: Nick and Mia meet for the first time. They know nothing about each other and seem to know everything about everyone else. But sometimes the less you know, the better...
There's like one or two more that I remember, but I can't find the links right now, so that's it from me - maybe I'll find the other ones later

Also, sorry about that 96hani. it's just so... addictive! XP If you mean that scary short movies are addictive, then yes, I'd say I would agree (even though I'm a scaredy-cat with too much imagination...). Scary stuff is, well scary... But also very addictive XS Can't explain why exactly though... As I said I'm afraid of dead things, but horror and thrillers still seem to interest me in a way - though by now I should've learned to just skip them.

Those are nice, rainbow! Okay. For The Lost Thing, here's my opinion. In a world of grays, that red thing looks wonderful. I don't care what it is, I want one XD and that place with signs is intriguing I call this one "eye candy" :3 The Numbers one is kinda dark, but it's something to think about But... Oooooh.... OHHHHHHHH! *still gaping* UWOOOO! PAINFUL! >___< (In other news, do Koreans really kiss like that? Or are they just doing that for censorship's sake or something?) Here's another animated one from France, teaching us to not judge others by appearance alone...

Nice! This is one of my favorite shorts. It totally didn't go the way I thought it would, but was still pretty funny.
