Poirot Cafe Community Collaborative Fanfic I suggest we first make a plan for this before jumping in without having an idea of how this is going to work. First, let's again see who is interested I participating. If anyone has suggests in the meantime, please share.

If we have more strict order, we need to allow time for each person to write their part, especially with timezone differences. I suggest after someone posts their part, the next participant should claim they want to write something next. And if they don't write something within a time limit, like a day or so, someone else may claim the next part. Depending on how many people want to participate, we could have a restriction like, you can only claim a slot every 3-4 posts.
Any ideas for a structure or feedback on the above?

That sounds good. This fanfic will probably get pretty crazy really quickly though, with absolutely no direction and a bunch of people with different ideas This is gonna be fun XD

Agree. People can post "claimed" or whatever, and then edit it. It´ll make everything easier. I used to participate in rope-plays, and when it started it was chaos. Everyone posted, stories didn´t match, etc... One day max I believe would be the best waiting time. Since the contribution is a small paragraph, nothing too big, more than a day isn´t necessary.

The craziness is also a problem. Some rules should be made. Like rating restriction. It would be bad if suddenly two characters started to make out. At the same time, possible pairings should be chosen also. I don´t want them to have mood swings. Imagine people whom want Shinichi with Ran and people who like KaiShin start a war, and Shinichi starts jumping from Kaito to Ran... I could only describe Shin-chan in such case as an emotionally unstable bastard.

Yeah, I think knowing who is going next is crucial. If everyone is posting at the same time it's going to be crazy. It's going to be crazy enough with so many ideas and writings styles that it'll be good to have a little bit of order to it all.

Haha Kaggami, I'm not sure how we can solve that issue ahead of time. One thing I can think of is just keeping it as genfic as possible. Everyone is just friends lol. xD
I definitely want to keep rated T or less, since there is a range of ages and not everyone will be comfortable with no restrictions. Do you think the rating needs to be lower? K+?

Max and min word length when adding a part. Too little is almost bad, but too much can also ruin the experience a little...

We can go until T, but M defiantly not... As you said, not everyone is comfortable with it XD
Hm... regarding the coupling issue, we can ask people to respect the choices made before them. For example, if Hakuba is dating Aoko, they cannot break them up unless they develop the reason well enough. That said, if a couple if broken in the next part right away even though they only started going out a part or two before, either its considered invalid or asked to be rewritten. What do you think of this method?

Hm, the rating depends, especially since people have different opinions in what they think goes in each category . . . Yeah, I think it should just be that everyone's friends, because some people won't like certain pairings. Especially me. I'm an only-canon person. And truthfully, not trying to offend anyone, I don't like yaoi at all (but I try not to let that influence how I think of others, so most of the people on this site are good). So I think it's better for everyone to just be friends. What should the limit be?

Max rating, T.
I´m not saying there should be pairings, but I am sure people will make some. I am not a romanticist type myself, and I find it hard to write, but people like it a lot. I like to read it, despite knowing I´m not the best at writing it XD
Well... min a paragraph, I think. Let´s not restrict it words wise, since that would be a pain...

So maybe min one paragraph and max 3?
