I'm working on an entry, but I'm not sure if it's too tangentially related to the theme to count. :/ It's more metaphorical handcuffs than literal handcuffs. The story is about feeling like you're trapped in a relationship, handcuffed to the other person and unable to free yourself even if you wanted to. If I have enough room, I want to delve into breaking free from the shackles and moving on to healthier relationships too.
I guess that counts, though, now that I actually set down my thoughts about the theme in writing.

Feel free to interpret the prompt however you’d like, Mikau!

Thanks!
But...Grr. I'm 5k in, and I haven't even gotten to the healing part with Sera yet. :/ I write too much.

Oooh, so many ideas... but I'm going to pass on this one, as I have a feeling my December is going to busy. That and that plot bunny that stole my brain at the end of the Finish It! event is mutating into something much more involved...

Alas, there is no way I can bust out a 6-8k fic in two days. p_p
I actually like this prompt, though. I had a fun idea for it. Sad.

So I have an entry, but it doesn't look like anyone else is going to participate, so I don't think I'll spend the time formatting it on here unless two other entries miraculously appear by the deadline. It's just too much of a headache to bother. ^.^; Sorry. Maybe some other time.
I'll start taking suggestions for the next theme and optional prompts tonight after the deadline passes, and then I'll start the vote on Wednesday.

I'm pretty sad that this theme didn't happen, but it's rough to participate in contests around the holidays, and we had the Secret Santa event too, so I'm not really surprised.
What would you guys like to do for our next theme? Any suggestions? Below are mine.
Hero:
- Someone you idolize - Antihero - Everyday Heroes
Partner:
- In Crime - In a Competition - Betrayal

Does anyone else have ideas? I'll leave the floor open for suggestions one more day, and then I'll start the vote.

I had initially wanted to write but the idea turned out to be too flimsy to make the word limit. Anyways, here is my suggestion:
Dessert -Ice cream -Justice/retribution (just desserts) -Over consumption

So when I said that I'd start the vote on Thursday night, I had forgotten that my grandma's wake was Thursday and her funeral all day Friday. :/ So I'm just going to start the vote now, and we'll let it go through next Saturday the 28th. The next contest won't be starting until February 5, so we have a little time.
Thanks for your patience guys. Now that I'm pretty much better from my illness and the process of laying Grandma to rest is over, I should be able to get back to my normal schedule and be more on top of things.
