Even though I was the one who suggested this theme, I feel like we've done something similar before. :/ Oh well. If we did, it was a long time ago, and we have new members and different members that are active nowadays, so I suppose as long as it inspires you guys. Oh. And it'll be just in time for Halloween. I didn't even think of that. Well, have fun!

So many possibilities o(≧∇≦o) Now that I finally have the time to sit and write, I think I'll join in the fun. Though by the looks of it, I'd probably go over limit. (๑•﹏•)⋆* ⁑⋆*

And I just cut a scene on my personality entree and added it later to keep it within the word limit. There are alot of ways to work around it, so dont fret Phantomshyraz if it gets too long!

I kind of want to participate. I have two main ideas. One is an AmuAzu piece that I came up with when the contest first started. I woke up in the middle of the night and had it all planned out, but when I woke up the next morning, I was hard pressed to remember all of the genius ways in which I made the story line work. :/ Don't you hate that? But I was going to have Amu-chan haunted by his past with the Org and stressing about it ruining his future with Azusa.
My other idea that I'm more seriously considering at this point is an AiKai story that takes place when Ai is sixteen and Kaito is twenty-six and out in the world as a professional magician. Kaito is emotionally in tatters over his family situation, his relationship with Aoko, and the way his life is going in general while Haibara is trying to regroup after the Professor's death while also dealing with Shinichi's upcoming marriage and the ghost of her relationship with Gin keeping her from being able to form new relationships. Her cousin Hakuba Saguru with whom she's reconnected in the past few years introduces her to his friend Kaito, and things just fall together in crazy, dysfunctional, emotionally broken ways from there as they help each other heal and learn to trust again.
Only I have no solid plot outline for that one and only one week in which to get it done. :/ I think I can do it. I've been so busy lately, but we all know I'm capable of hammering out large expanses of words in relatively short amounts of time. I don't know. I just need some direction. Mainly some impetus that makes Kaito want to pursue her as a romantic partner because there's no way that Haibara's going to be the instigator. :/ Hmmmm. Once I settle that and have a handle on WHY he wants to pursue her, it'll be easy to make it happen, but I'm missing Kaito's motive, and that's key. :/

hmmmm. maybe it can be something a long the lines of her ability to empathise with Kaito and put things into perspective that no one has been able to? and that she's a refreshing contrast to Aoko? Probably also like her dry wit (though calling it that might be debatable)?
would that be something you could work with?

Thanks. Yeah. Those are all things that would be attractive. I'm thinking that I'm going to have Hakuba introduce them after one of Kaito's shows, but I doubt he'd fall in love at first sight, so to speak. She may spark his interest, but I'm looking for a follow up event that really makes him think, "I want to stop running away from my emotions and try to make a relationship work again."
I'm thinking he'll get roped into helping her and Hakuba with the Professor's stuff, and maybe then he can really start to see her value. The big, game-changing event will probably come later, but I think I could definitely find them a moment alone while they're moving boxes for them to talk about deeper things if I springboard off of Hakase's death--ah! Yes. Because the Professor was like a father figure to Ai, and then I can have Kaito talk a little bit about his own father and--yes. We'll run with this and see where it gets us.
Thanks for being a sounding board!

I'm thinking he maybe catches a peek of her during a private moment when she lets her guard drop and it intrigues him. Maybe?

Thanks, guys! I think this will be good. ^.^ I could have him catch her looking over some of the Professor's stuff one last time before it gets boxed up.
I'm not sure why I'm bothering when all of the other entries for this contests are so phenomenal, but I'll see if I can get something together in time anyway. ^.^;

Oh Mikau, your fic is going to be awesome but from your summary, it sounds like it might go longer than 8k?
