I'm curious. How many of Conan's (or Shinichi's) cases have you been able to solve? Doesn't matter whether it's manga or anime. As for me, I've only been able to solve one. I completely forgot what it was about, but I know it was an anime episode (probably an anime original). The one thing that stood out to me about that episode, however, would be that one second when Conan and I said "souka!" at the exact same time, in the exact same way

Ooh, I managed to not quite solve as in how, but figure out WHO did it and why. I've never been able to totally find out how, but there were a lot that I could find the culprit and motive. Sometimes I randomly guess based on what I suspect happened backstory, but usually I take Conan's evidence of "how" and turn it into who/why.

Figuring out the AOs isn't too rough (You can often spot the killer before the case has been solved... or even committed -.-'), and not all the Manga Cases are solvable from the knowledge we get (Gosho often hides key clues, making cases "Unfair" mysteries). I'd say of the Manga Cases, I get more right than just a roulette wheel might at least.

Like StarlightDragons, I can usually pick up on who the killer is and a general why. After seven hundred episodes, you kind of start noticing the patterns. ^.^; Like if someone starts wondering where the victim is out of the blue, it's probably because they need the victim to be found at a specific time to cement their fake alibi, and if a suspect suggests that the group go somewhere or do something, that suspicious. In a grossly general way, but I have a feeling you know what I mean.

I've figured out the killer once or twice. How he did it, that's something Conan's had to solve for me. I think the ones I did best were two anime episodes. In one case, I actually pieced the evidence together wrong, though I still got what the culprit did right, and in the other, I was begging for it not to be the culprit. That one was the episode where the fifty-something year old horror writer wanted Kogoro to make sure his thirty-something wife was still being faithful to him and he had that groundskeeper being his ghostwriter.

Yeah, that's what it's like for me. I almost never figure out the tricks XD I'm not as knowledgeable as Conan.
Hm, I don't remember that episode . . .

I don't remember that one either. :/ Was it one of the really early ones? If so, I should be coming up on it soon in my manga re-read. There seem to be a lot of cases where there's a ghostwriter or people stealing other people's ideas and all that. Actually, there really only seem to be a dozen or so motives used in DC. I can kind of tell by looking at the characters and their relationships and kind of narrow down the suspects like that after 760 episodes. ^.^;

They were both anime-only, I'm afraid to say. But I think the first was somewhere in the first or second seasons, while the vampire one was closer to the fourth. (Okay. I'm guessing.)

One time I guessed who did it, but I couldn't put together how or why.

I can't remember, to be honest... I do remember figuring out more OA episodes than the manga-based ones, LOL... The suicide ones designed to look like murder and vice versa are specially interesting. But what I remember the most was that case with an old man in a soundproof room and this guy suspiciously tells everyone he can hear the sound of the movie playing or something... I think it's a vampire-related case... Oh, and it's nothing much but I remember guessing correctly that the body was put on top of the elevator in that Library Murder Case episode (ep50, I believe). ... and yes... like Laurel-san, I had to leave the motive-for-killing on Conan's part, unless mentioned/revealed earlier in the episode... (cos really, some are lame, some are over-the-top, and some have really good reasons to kill because whether intentional or not I sometimes wish the characters die cos they're annoying... But I still don't get why the criminals had to resort to killing; they make simple things that can be talked over tea or coffee sound complex, and they make complex things more complex! I dunno if I still make sense anymore, lol ) Also, for that live-action episode (the 2011 one with Mizobata Junpei) with a girl pretending amnesia, I correctly guessed she's faking memory loss and that she's not the culprit who killed her husband... (Oh gosh, do I need to have that 'spoiler' label for saying too much? )

THAT"S THE ONE! THAT'S THE VAMPIRE EPISODE! The soundproof room is the one I was talking about! Personally, the Library Murder case was scary. The culprit actually freaked me out a little bit and my brother agreed. Good. Not just me. (We let the kid handle that complicated stuff. XD)

hehe, I got my cousin addicted to DCMK a few months back, and it's only after I showed the Library Murder Case that she FINALLY thought the criminal silhouette isn't that scary anymore LOL, that druggie-murderer librarian really is THAT scary

Amazing what murder can do. XD I don't mind the silhouette. It was actually the CULPRIT for me.
Is that you agreeing or teasing? I can't tell.
