I am planning on participating. So does sgamer I think. Though I suddenly got flooded with work as University just started. And moving into a new apartment (waiting for my key. I payed for the whole month from the 1st of August; and I still havent been able to get my key. Which is really unfortunate as I pay £900 a month. Considering asking for half the rent back when we have already sent several overdued notice for him to just leave the key at the apartment for two weeks now so my older sister can pick it up as she too is renting at the same complex) Ill see if I can manage to finish something regardless. Got two weeks afterall.

Gosh! Good luck with that! Hopefully it will all work out because that's ridiculous. :/
I don't know if I'll be able to participate. Technically speaking, I'm more than capable of producing an entry, but I just don't want to. I've been pushing myself too hard in recent weeks, so when I'm not working, I'm giving myself unconditional permission to do whatever I feel like in my limited free time. That way I don't burn myself out, effectively making myself useful to no one.
So we'll see. I wouldn't count on it, but maybe.

Oh yeah, its definitely important to take time for just yourself too, Mikau. Don't stress anything if you feel like not doing it! We all have had those months/weeks. No one is expecting you to be Superwoman

Thank you. It's very reassuring to hear you say that because *I* always expect myself to be Supergirl and manage it all. It's a relief to know others don't have such rigid standards for me. ^.^;

*squint* if we're going to be short of an entry i might be able to whip something up just to make it three entries - so long as i don't get hit in the head during netball again. Yes Mikau, don't push yourself too hard! Relax...relax is good! and writing is suppose to be fun anyway:) Ohhh Cesela! hope everything will be resolved soon!

I'll also see if I can toss something last minute in here to make at least three for voting. Maybe.
And I hope everything gets resolved, Cesela! Take care of yourselves, Mikau and Addy! :/

Hi Mikau Just wondering if it's possible to extend the deadline for this contest? I am working on something that i should be able to have up by Tuesday midnight going on Wednesday, if you guys would still like to have a third entrant. Otherwise, it's okay. It was a last minute inspiration for this fic anyway and i kinda knew i might not meet the deadline anyway.

I'm going to say no. We just extended another deadline--what was that? Last week?--and I feel like if we keep extending this contest and that contest, what's the point of having a deadline? Deadlines are important things that must be honored in the real world, and learning time management to meet deadlines is a valuable skill, especially when the court/your publisher/your boss needs whatever you're working on on time. Meeting less serious deadlines here is good practice and puts us in the right mindset for the real world.
I know it can be a little difficult to allot time when inspiration comes at the last minute, but... ^.^;
When there are a few people trying to scrape something together last minute, I'm more likely to consider extending, but I don't want to hold things up for one entry. I think we need to move on to the next theme. I also don't want you to pressure yourself to rush to complete your piece. Why don't you take your time with it, giving it the time and attention it deserves?
I feel like, also, that when we (myself included) rush to finish projects last minute just for the contest, they FEEL rushed and don't turn out as well as they may have if we had taken another week or so to really hammer things out and polish the piece. I want these contests to help us create quality work. Sometimes that happens in the last days before the deadline, but I don't want us to get in the habit of always writing at the last minute.
I hope that all made sense. I'm exhausted and kind of nodding off as I type this. ^.^;

Okay. So. Suggestions for the next theme? Please limit yourselves to two suggestions per person. Like I mentioned before, when there are twelve or so choices, voting tends to get spread pretty thin, and I think it would be much better for participation numbers if we had fewer choices and the winner had more than just two or three votes.
Go ahead and submit your suggestions at any point. I'll start the vote on Wednesday going into Thursday by the Cafe clock, and then I'll close voting at midnight on Saturday the tenth so that we can get the next contest going shortly thereafter.

Good. I'm glad. I was seriously running on fumes when I was on last night, and it's hard to articulate clearly and eloquently when you're tired. ^.^;
