Should I add 18 and/or the Lupin movies to the poll? You can vote up to 5 movies for your favorites. I tend to favor the movies with a suspenseful/interesting mystery. I don't mind that the movies are more action-packed than the manga, but sometimes they can get a little over the top, heh. Mine favorites are: 3 Last Wizard of the Century
I really liked the cameos of Heiji and Kid without them being too much of the focus. The mystery was really interesting and I liked the history behind it. It also didn't seem as crazy over the top as the newer ones. The writer for these movies was definitely one of the best. I can't wait to see what he did for 18. 7 Crossroad in the Ancient Capital
The Japanese history was really interesting in this movie, which I realize is more of a turn-off for a lot of people. And we had an appearance of you-know-who, and Heiji and Kazuha whom I like a lot! I really want to visit Kyoto (and Osaka). 4 Captured in her Eyes
I liked the pretense of the cop-murderer and trying to find out who it was really was a mystery. Serial killer plots are one of the most suspenseful mysteries in crime series for me. I do think the amnesia plot device can be a little cliche but it was still pretty emotional. I'm glad Ran could kick butt in the end and not be a damsel in distress the whole time. 5 Countdown to Heaven
Wooh, BO action in a movie. I liked that their involvement wasn't as unbelievable as in Raven Chaser. There was a lot of great moments for all the cast, the DBs, Ran, Haibara, etc. The motive for the murders was interesting, since it dealt with something similar to my field of expertise. 1 The Time-Bombed Skyscraper
What can I say? The first movie, the original bombing movie. An underrated movie because of it's age perhaps? I think some of the following movies were harder to figure out the culprit so that's why this one isn't higher.

Let's see, if I were to choose 5 of the movies as my favorites . . . 8: Magician of the Silver Sky What can I say? It's got Kid (Conan's reaction when he found out who he was disguised as was hilarious ), danger, near-death experiences, and that one thing that happened when Shinichi called Ran (even though Ran thinks it's her and Kid's secret)
14: The Lost Ship in the Sky No, Kaitou Kid doesn't determine my choice of movies, but yes, this movie has him, too It also has the interaction of Conan and "that one person", which is very rare to see unless Kid is involved. It just has so many funny parts in it.
15: Quarter of Silence Three words: Near. Death. Experience. Not that they're unusual in the movies, but this one I especially like. What's funny is I didn't even realize what this movie's title referred to until much later.
16: The Eleventh Striker Not quite sure why, but this one ranks high enough to be one of my favorites.
6: The Phantom of Baker Street Maybe it's just cuz of what Noah's Ark said at the end before Conan escaped. It was also fun for me. Makes me think of a crossover between Detective Conan and Sword Art Online.
I just have to say that Eleventh Striker, Phantom of Baker Street and Full Score of Fear (12) were basically tied and the reason why I like Full Score of Fear is because of that little thing at the end with Ran, Conan, and the violin (okay, there were other things, too, but that scene was the main thing).
Well, I guess you could add the Lupin movies, but maybe you shouldn't add 18 till it's subbed and we can see what it's actually like.

My top five: -Captured in her eyes I liked the case and how the movie showed some cute points of RanXShinichi. How sad and angry Conan looked when Sonoko ranted about Shinichi not being there... -The private eye's requiem My favorite case regarding the detective-work and the resolution - not so much my fav culprit though. His motive was a bit... thin. But Heiji and Conan in action (with a little help from Kid) were great and their deduction also. -Crossroad in the acient capital HeijiXKazuha are always nice to see and we don't get that much of them in the show. Shinichi's short appearance was a goody The whole atmosphere of the movie was awsome, with the music and the background and Geishas. And the little chipmunk!! ^__^ + I love the ending theme!! -The last wizard of the century Nice story, Kid, Heiji, great moment in the cellar?vault? when the memorie egg showed the pictures (the song!) But did you notice that in the last scene, where Kid acts as Shinichi, the art quality is much worse then in the rest of the film? Who drew the poor characters? An intern? The scene was cute but looking at it did hurt the eyes a bit XD -Quarter of silence I wasn't sure about nominating this one, because it has a few points I don't like and because the 3D-elements are outright awful (good thing they worked on this point in the following films, though I prefer the more tradiotional drawings.) But yes, the near-death scene made up for it. Just to see how poor Ran tries to call Shinichi was heart-breaking *sob* All in all it was a good action-movie and the plot was nice. (and if I squint very very hard, I don't even see the gravity-defying skatebord stunts )

I would have to say that my favorites are (in no particular order):
5: Countdown to Heaven - I just loved Haibara in this one. The end was so emotional, and there were a couple moments throughout the film that I really just enjoyed. Like, isn't this the one where Mitsuhiko and Ayumi come to Ran for love advice? Or am I mistaking this for a different movie?
7: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital - Because Kyoto. That's where I lived and worked and went to school. Those are my old stomping grounds, and I always get emotional whenever I see them (in anime or otherwise). In fact, in that one episode where it opens up on Kyoto Station (the one with the disappearing chocolate sweets right before the seventeenth movie) I recognized the station within three seconds and started squealing and crying because it's been too long since I've been there. Anyway, and the fact that I really enjoyed the history in this movie. I thought it was really well done.
8: Magician of the Silver Sky - Anytime someone has to fly an airplane, it's awesome. Plus Kid. Kaito's my favorite character, and it's always a treat to see him. Better yet, see him screwing around with poor Shin-chan, and this movie had plenty of that.
10: The Private Eyes' Requiem - Because Hakuba. He's my other favorite character, so getting to have him and Kid all rolled into one in a movie was great. They honestly don't do enough with Hakuba. Plus the mystery and the suspense in this one was really engaging.
14: The Lost Ship in the Sky - I adored the Kid/Conan interactions in this one and then Ran's whole struggle with Kid's "true identity". It was a really suspenseful, entertaining movie. For some reason, the whole scene with the goat was one of my favorites.

First place: Number 4: Captured in Her Eyes. I loved the amnesia and Conan was just plain awesome in there. I've watched it I dunno how many times. Second place: Number 3: Last Wizard of the Century. Kaito Kid + Near Death Experience. Must I say more? Third Place: Number 2: The Fourteenth Target. Frankly, I just enjoyed it. Kogoro caring for his wife at the beginning also made it a great story too. How can someone race to the hospital like that when he learns of his wife getting poisoned and STILL have a difficult time admitting that he loves her still? AND he told the doctors to take good care of her! (Bottom line, the KogoroXEri development.)

I love all of the movies, haha but here are some of my favorites (not in order, because I don't have in order. They're from oldest to most recent): Raven Chaser- I guess my reason for liking this one is pretty generic, haha. It's got BO in it, which is always thrilling, especially with that confrontation against Irish and the helicopter thing on the tower. Talk about close calls! Yay for Ran and her skills, although her fear got to her before she could get to him. Sigh. And the Heiji scenes were great; him helping Conan out and forcing him into a promise and everything - I really enjoyed it. Also, this fanfic is a wonderful depiction of the - as the title states - fallout and aftermath of this movie. The Lost Ship in the Sky- Actually, I prefer this one over the Magician of the Silver Sky - probably because we get more Kaito screentime (while knowing that he's Kaito). Oh, and the window thing. Yes. Falling. Kaito saving Conan from a squishy death is good. And their moment of truce / working together-ness in the helicopter with Takagi and Satou. I just thoroughly enjoyed having Kaito out and about in most of the movie. Oh, and the criminals were rather clever. Also, how could anyone forget Kaito accidentally making Ran and a couple others think that Shinichi was Kid? XD Speaking of which, Heiji's face at Takagi and Satou when they brought it up was hilarious. Quarter of Silence- I have no idea what makes this stand out from the other generic movies - as "generic" as Conan movies get, anyway - but for some reason I've always loved loved loved this movie to bits. The first few scenes were rather intense, and had me hooked as soon as we got to them. Thank you, Conan, for saving the day. Again. And the day a short while after that, too. Oh, and his life-or-death situations? I really feel for Ran, poor girl, especially in those last scenes. Hm, maybe I just like the snow or something... Speaking of which, the diamond dust was a nice touch. Or maybe it was the bombs. Nah, all Conan movies have bombs. (No but seriously they do.) Probably all the dangerous situations Conan gets himself wrapped up in. Who knows? May I also mention that this fanfic makes this movie all the better? It's got Kaito in it~ //tempts you with Kaito and Conan interactions// The Eleventh Striker- Ooh, okay, so, I really like this movie for the same reason as Quarter of Silence: in other words, I have no stinking idea as to why I like it. I just do. The goalpost thing was kinda stressful, poor strikers. And darnit, Kogorou, get your act together for once! Pretty please? Sheesh. I liked that the Detective Boys got to play a pretty big part, although what infuriates me is that they're just - urg, the only world I can think of is "childish" and they are children, they're just infinitely more frustrating. Maybe I'm just too used to Conan. XD I mean, thank goodness they rolled with the situation, thank goodness they were there to save Conan's useless butt (you idiot, run around the stupid thing and KICK it directly. or even better, mr. culprit, YOU do something! don't just crumple there!), but man if their ignorance makes me want to smash my head against the wall. On the other hand, that might be because of lingering memories from, "But then Conan will take all the credit!"-type scenes from other episodes. //shrugs// Either way, I still like it! Dimensional Sniper- Not an option on the poll (yet, I hope), but the most recent movie! Yes, Subaru is indeed master of pointless cameos, and even more so in the beginning and middle parts of this movie - at the end, however, things reach a climax and holycrapallthosecameoswereimportantGASP (although admittedly most of us probably saw it coming), it was still super exciting, especially the end scene where it was "officially" revealed who he is. Aside from that, though, the whole layout was pretty clever of the culprit, and I liked that the name of this movie actually nods a reference to it, and yet not exceedingly obviously. And finally, the FBI in a movie! Yay! Oh, and Conan's kicking that one really dramatical soccer ball at the end - that scene was really well-done. However, I do have to complain that Ran's actions were stupid and since when did someone who dodged bullets in movie 13 get stopped by one skimming her cheek. And "Shinichi, what do I do?" was frankly wince-worthy, since she technically put herself into the situation and sends the message of "Ran gets herself into trouble, Shinichi has to get her out" when it's really the other way around. Thankfully, that last smack-down she gave the culprit was satisfying (and did you see Ayumi's face? I think we've got a future karate practitioner!) and made it a bit better, but still. It just grates on my nerves horribly. Please stop making Ran the damsel in distress, she's strong, both emotionally and physically. The Sunflowers of Inferno- Not out yet, but I predict it becoming one of my favorites because Kaito. I know that it's kinda dangerous to assume it'll be good, since it seems like this can very easily be overhyped (like Raven Chaser was, luckily I wasn't in the whole shebang when the trailer came out, I'd be so disappointed to know that the most dramatic scene featured in the trailers was only a dream), but it's Kaito. If Ran's dangling from the ceiling and bleeding and Kaito's maniacal attitude leads to overhype... Well, for one, I highly doubt it's a dream, and if it is, I will break something. The other possibility is that it's an illusion or trick set up by Kid - or Conan with Kid. While that means the trailer's vastly misleading us, it also means there's something deeper going on, and that, in my opinion, would be thrilling. So yeah. Speculation. If it turns out to be a slump, I'll come back to this post and weep. I feel like I'll be coming back here to edit anyway, so. Yeah. Those are my favorite movies!

It looks like polls can't be edited so I can't add new movies. I read in the forum support that it's like this to protect vote results but they *may* update more poll features in the future.

Yeah, I wish Dimensional Sniper was on the list XD About that scene when Conan was kicking the ball, I think the voices were a nice touch. I mean, Shinichi's voice really added to the scene XD I predict the 19th movie will be really exciting and most likely a favorite as well ^-^ OoO I never thought it could be a dream! Oh it better not be a dream

Hmmm, my top five would be... The Raven Chaser: This movie is great and full of suspense. And the idea of conan being discovered makes me so engaged in the movie until the last minute. And though I don't think that the movie should have ended without an aftermath, it's still my number one favorite. The Lost Ship in the Sky: I love this movie because it shows alot of interaction between KID and conan. I mean most of the time they're working against each other and that's great; it makes for great showdowns. But I still like to see them on the same side. They make an amazing team. Full Score of Fear: I like it because it has alot of reflections on Shinichi and Ran's past. Eventhough the movies are technically noncanon, I like the flashback and its story. There's also the part where conan does everything he can to make sure Ran is safe including the risk of entering the burning building. Oookaay he might have done that a couple of times before, but still it's cute Countdown to Heaven: This movie is one of my favorites because it mainly deals with the Shonen Tantei. They don't get their share in the limelight that much. Also the presence of the black org increases the suspense in the story. Not to mention all the stunts conan and ran did were incredible !!! Crossroad in the Ancient Capital: I like heiji so much, so a movie that was mostly about him was amazing. Everything in the story is tied one way or the other on heiji's first love experience. I like the fighting scene at the end too; it shows his skills in kendo and what amazing skills they are

I shall add mine to the list, but before that... a little info... I'm a sucker for short films and movies with deep and/or underlying messages: stuff that screams "Hey, this is what's going on, this is what we're telling you, but you're a smart movie-goer and you can see past that" (subtexts and what-not). I'm also into noticing technicalities (CGs, colors, character/set designs, BG music) as it has been an incurable habit of mine to look at backgrounds and things happening behind actual scenes, lol. Plot twists, quotable quotes and memorable key scenes play a huge part in picking my top favorite movies... For DC movies, here are my top 5 in no particular order: 7 Crossroads in the Ancient Capital - Marutake ebisu ni oshi oike~~ (lol, can't help but sing). We get a flashback on Heiji and Kazuha as kids and although not canonical, a glimpse on Heiji's first love... which gives way to him being a target of the killer omgomgomgomgomg! and his search for his first love ends in an unexpected note... I got to say, though, the best part for me here was the motorcycle chasing scene. THAT. WAS. INTENSE. and the CG was so darn cool. Also, we get another "Heiji-teasing-Conan-with-a-nudge-nudge-on-the-shoulder" scene. Kuraki Mai singing the ending theme contributes as a factor as to why this is one of my most favorites. 8 Magician of the Silver Sky - Okay, I may be biased because it has Kid in it, but there's something more than that. First off, Kid's note ( Romeo, Juliet, Victor, Bravo). At first glance, who would even thought this has something to do with a plane?! Also, Kid disguised as Shinichi and restless overprotective Conan is loooove. That 8-or-so-minutes of Conan vs. Kid atop the building, falling off and ending on top of a moving train, with Kid outwitting him again in the end was a winner!~ And Kaito once again showing us why he's a total pervert *giggles* 14 The Lost Ship in the Sky - I cannot remember how many darn times I rewatched this movie. We have Kid, a 'UFO', a reference on Haibara and eternal youth (Peter Pan. I mean, remember she's got her name on the logbook on the "And Then There Were no Mermaids" arc?), Kid seducing Ran, the soccer ball trick, a little KidxConan and goat moment. Takagi and Sato getting suspicious on Shinichi being Kid. HAHA~ What I find most interesting, though, was the airship leaping like a whale part and Conan getting rid of the bad guys part. Oh, and ending song (Overdrive by Garnet Crow)!~ It also helps that we get a short on what happens the day after (Osaka Okonomiyaki Odyssey... but I feel sorry for Conan; he probably got traumatized because of that incident, hehe). The bad guys are total douchebags, though. I mean, slapping a little girl and throwing another child overboard... really?! 15 Quarter of Silence - Because of Conan telling Shounen Tanteidan about words turning to knives and are things that cannot be taken back once they're said. If I recall correctly, this was said to Conan and Heiji back at the first part of the Three Days with Hattori Heiji special episode. It's nice to note Conan takes the words at heart. Also, I find the plot twist and the information on diamond dust pretty interesting (there's no snow where I come from). REALLY wonderful OST for this one. I feel sorry for Ran, though, when she realized Shinichi might be around and he didn't even tell her... OH, and Conan almost dying! OMG I remember holding my breath on that scene. 18 The Dimensional Sniper - Nice story, nice twist (LOOOOVE the plot twist for this movie the most!), we've got the FBI for the first time ever, Sera Masumi for the first time ever, and revelation on a certain 'guy-in-a-mask' almost the same time The Scarlet Arc was released (*ahem* marketing strategy? Really, Aoyama-sensei... really? Not that we have problems with it but... really?). Sera and Conan chasing the bad guy was my most favorite part of the movie (putting the lack of physics aside, heheh)... The serial snipings, and the pattern was cool imo and just when they thought they've got their bad guy he ends up getting killed... Need I say more? xD Also, I can't wait for movie 19!~ EDIT: I realized just now that there's a poll... and movie 18 is still not part of it... so I shall vote for... um, can't decided between Magician of the Silver Sky and Captured in Her Eyes, actually...

It's been ages since I've seen any of the movies, but I think my favorite has always been The Time-Bombed Skyscraper. Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking, but I like the stories with smaller stakes, and as absurd as it may sound, "crazy dude runs around Tokyo blowing up buildings" is practically jaywalking compared to, um, the villains in every other movie. That said, I've also got mad respect for how unapologetically over-the-top they made the villain - his design looks like human Sinestro, and his motive reads like something out of a Batman comic.
Maybe it's for this reason that I've always had a soft spot for Captured in Her Eyes, too. By all accounts, it should be a mess of cliches, but up until the last ten minutes - where Conan basically turns into a freaking superhero - it might have been the most disturbing and personal storyline any of the movies ever did. The amnesia angle is so old that its mold is growing mold, but I dunno - the fact that it's induced not by a tap on the head but by Ran blaming herself for Sato-keiji getting shot makes it work for me. And at no point is it played for comedy, which is another plus, I guess.
And The Lost Ship in the Sky is virtually the only double-digit movie that I don't view with suspicion. I mean, it's as glitzy and over-the-top as the rest at times, but it does explore a lot of potential that Aoyama probably never would in the manga (Ran-Kid interaction? Surely you jest, Sir!). Also, this was the one with Kid randomly playing with a... goat kid, right?
The others all have their share of ups and downs (yes, even Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure has parts I liked, sue me), but nothing that rose quite so high. Last Wizard came praised to the Heavens by a lot of Conan fans I respect, but I found it somewhat underwhelming, and it's built on a very dated urban legend (plus, the climax was pretty silly for what had been, up until that point, a relatively sober adventure). The Private Eyes' Requiem was clearly under a lot of pressure to be the Tenth and Best movie, so it crammed way too many characters, schemes, and climaxes in there. Magician of the Silver Sky... okay, the chase between Conan and Kid is one of the few scenes I'll seek out and rewatch to this day, but that aside it's basically a standard AO episode with jacked-up stakes. The Dimensional Sniper lost me pretty early when Conan chased after a professional gunman armed with nothing but his skateboard, sad to say.
