Hey guys! Have you ever had a story idea that you'd really like to see done but don't have sufficient time or inspiration to do yourself? You can post those ideas here for other members to try their hands at. I suggest posting your ideas in bold or a color so that they stand out from the conversations in this thread discussing the ideas.
I don't see any reason why two or more people can't adopt the same prompt, as even though the idea may be the same, different writers will do drastically different things, even if they start at the same place.
If you do decide to adopt a prompt, please make sure you credit the prompter for their idea. Have fun, and remember to challenge yourself!

After the fall of the black organisation and returning to his body, Shinichi needs a lawyer. Fortunately, Ran knows exactly where to find one.
A Yu Yu Hakusho crossover where the apotoxin kills Shinichi and, since he wasn’t supposed to die, becomes a spirit detective.
After the fall of the black organisation, Shinchi gets stuck with Hondou Eisuke as a bodyguard.
(It probably would be possible to combine the first and last prompt, if you wanted.)

I love this idea, but something goes sideways every time I try to sit down and work on it. So, I’ll post it here to see if anyone else wants to try their hand at it. Essentially, Shinichi graduates from the police acadamy and joins the K-9 unit. Meanwhile, Kaito finds himself turned into a werewolf of sorts. (Due to magic or genetics, authors choice) Where the only time he turns human again is durning the night of the full moon.(Because how else could he continue to be KID?) And somehow he ends up as Shinichi’s canine partner. (Possibly being adopted by Aoko and then being left with her father when she goes to college or gets a job out of town. Then Ginzo give Kaito to the K-9 unit because he feels like he can’t care for his daughter’s “pet” with all the hours he works.)
This is all I managed to write for it so far:
As a general rule, Shinichi was good with dogs. They just made more sense to him than most humans. Not that he wasn’t an expert in human behavior has long as he was an outside observer. It was only his personal interactions that he seemed to misread an almost alarming amount of the time. So it wasn’t entirely surprising when he was asked to join the K-9 unit at his graduation from the police academy.
What was surprising, was finding out that Inspector Megere had suggested it, and the rest of division one had agreed with it. The logic, as it was explained to Shinichi, was pretty straight forward, he needed a partner that would follow him into a burning building, if only to drag his charred hide back out.
It turned out that Shinichi’s favorite inspector had been trying his best to find Shinichi a good partner before he graduated. And in doing so, he had discovered two things. First, that Shinichi’s reputation as a corpse magnet had permeated the entirety of the police force. Second, no one wanted to partner with the young detective. The reasons varied from, “I don’t believe for a second he’s actually as good as the rumors say.” to “No thanks. I’ve heard the rumors and I’m not ready to die yet.” So really the options were to force another newly graduated officer to partner with Shinichi or turn to man’s best friend.

To say that Kaito was displeased with his situation would be an understatement of enormous magnitude. It really seemed like somewhere along the way his mother might have mentioned that he was a shapeshifter. But no. He had found out when at his 20th birthday party he found himself locked in his own bathroom fighting the overwhelming urge to empty the contents of his stomach.
This wasn’t entirely unexpected given that he had been planning to have a drink or two once it was legal for him to do so. (Part time phantom thieves need to be careful to keep their noses clean in their civilian lives lest they garner unwanted attentions.) But at Aoko’s insistence he had been abstaining until midnight. So he hadn’t had the slightest clue about why he was suddenly so sick. Or why his whole body hurt. Or why he was starting to hallucinate. Because there was no way his hand was morphing into a furry paw in front of his eyes.

I'll toss in a couple of AU scenarios I've thought of. I'd like to do stories with them but not sure I'll ever get around to it:
AU #1: Akemi is shrunk when Gin decides to be sadistic and kill her with her little sister's drug and leave her to die.
AU #2: Shiho Miyano is shrunk by APTX-4869, and runs to the Kudo house like she does in canon, but instead of being found by Professor Agasa, she's discovered by a never-been-shrunk Shinichi Kudo.

I thought I'd get something going, since we were talking about it. Here's a an idea that I tried to start, but I somehow never could get it quite right:
After Shinichi disappears (as in, turns in Conan), Ran finds herself randomly picking up books from his library and reading them to feel closer to him, returning them when she's done, but keeping the ones she likes for a bit longer (which she does presumably every time she goes to clean his house). Except this is very personal to her, so she hides the books and doesn't tell anyone what she's doing.
So that was the basic premise anyway. I thought it would be an interesting character study, though I don't know how likely Ran is to pick up books from the Kudo mansion seeing as they've been available to her since she was very young. I feel like there's some scope for plot progress if, Ran maybe learns some detective skills from reading the detective books or something, but I imagine that would feel very contrived if it wasn't written well enough. So... yeah
