It doesn't look like we're going to get any entries this time either. I think we'll try one more 6-8k, and then maybe try reworking this contest. I like having a longer contest option, but we never seem to get entries. :/ Was anyone thinking of participating this time, or should I start collecting theme suggestions for the next one? Maybe we just haven't had the right theme or people have been too busy to commit to 6-8k lately.

Perhaps a bit of both? Its definitly a bit of a commitment figuring out a plot\scenes to cover enough and not more or less.
(I'll just add some random themes that popped into my head that doesn't make any sense but are better then nothing)
Books -library -projectile -study
Purple -colour -bruises -flowers

Ha! Projectile books. I like both of those. ^.^
Well, I think I'll be taking theme suggestions until next Sunday, September 17, and then we'll vote from then until Saturday, September 23. I seriously doubt we'll get three entries in the next few hours, but I'll check back in later to be sure.

Honestly, I'm sort of stalled out on anything more than about 3k words at the moment. But I don't see myself participating in a longer contest like this in the future. If I see a prompt that I kind of like for a short story, I'll go ahead and try it. But I'd have to really, really like a prompt to shoot for the 6k words. I'd rather spend the time on the multi-chapter stories I've already started.

Anyone have any other theme and prompt suggestions?

I believe I'll give it one more day, and hopefully one or two more suggestions will appear. You don't necessarily have to plan on participating in order to throw a theme out there.

I'm not quite sure whether I'll have the time to sit and write but I'll throw out a theme nonetheless because I'm actually running on a writer's block at the moment for my long multi-chapter fic.
Toy -feelings (toying with feelings) -soldier -stuffed animals
