Hi there! If you don't know me, I'm Crimson Amarone.
I'm the author of Mystery of the Meitantei on FF.net: I'm also a fanart artist on deviantArt:
Beta Status:
I'm willing to take beta requests for the time being!
Beta Profile/Bio:
Describe who you are as a beta-reader, your betareading style, and/or expectations of anyone that wishes to acquire your services.
I want to apologize ahead of time because I'm probably going to be a pretty selective beta-reader. I'll help as much as I can but I would like to see that I actually have something to work with before I accept a request. My preferences go into this more thoroughly. I can do simple spelling and grammar checking or I can help with plot consistency and characterization. Since I know authors have very difference experience in writing, I'll work on whatever we think needs to be focused on. It would be helpful if you already have a plot outlined but as long as you have the ideas for a plot, I can also help toss ideas around too.
Please let me know if you have something M-rated and what it is about before I can consider it.
My Strengths:
Honesty is not boasting. Name areas of betareading/writing you excel at. Everyone has a different perspective of the world and skills.
English is my native language, so I'm very proficient in grammar, spelling, and formatting. I think that I have a good grasp of characterization. I also can help less experienced writers or anyone who might need help with their English to properly get their story written to the level they want it. However, this will be a lot of work on your part as well because I hope that through this you are hoping to improve as well.
My Weaknesses:
Perfection is the pursuit of perfection. Talk about your weaknesses as a betareader/writer.
I actually haven't done much creative writing besides Mystery of the Meitantei recently so I can't admit to having that much experience as an author.
Preferred:
Are there some type of stories you would prefer to beta over others?
Canon based works are preferred but not required. Works using the actual genre of the fandom is also a plus. Ie. A Detective Conan fanfic having mystery/suspense/action. Canon based pairings are preferred but other pairings I may consider. Please ask in that case. I would prefer if you have a decent length story in mind. If you want to write a one-shot, please make sure its of a sufficient length to be worth proofreading. I don't particularly want to beta drabbles.
Not My Cup Of Tea:
Are there some type of stories you would not betaread?
Like I mentioned, I'd rather not beta something that is only like 400 words. Most crack-fics. I don't mind humor but I don't think I need to help you write something if its just going to be plain silly. Again, please let me know if it's M-rated and what it is about before I can consider it.
Résumé
If you have beta read before, what work of writing was it? Link to the piece if it's posted online.
I had beta read for Lostinthedreams/Mysterfan7's Deception from chapter 72 to 82. I unfortunately got too busy with school and had to stop betaing. :-\
Fandoms Offered
Are there any particular fandoms that you can beta for?
At the moment, I'm not offering to beta for other fandoms. However if you have a special request for an original fiction I'd be more than happy to consider helping with that.
