This one is more... serious than the previous. Have you wondered what Haibara was thinking when she took the apoptoxin? The word pill made me wonder, and I wrote something quick about it. No flames please. (P.S. May have inconsistencies with anime/manga. I don´t remember well this part, and I´m too lazy to search for it)
It was supposed to kill. To end all and every suffering her heart had been forced to endure, finally bringing the end she so had wanted. A slow death wasn´t what she wished, and to die surrounded by blazing red would not happen. After all, she had something that could end it quicker, less painfully. Soon… soon, she would be with her loved ones.
Pinkish brown hair reflected the cursed flames that seemed to approach her rapidly, grey eye staring at them for a brief second before the slender hand found its way to the pocket, taking out a white and red pill. She would have preferred to have some water, as she struggled to shallow it, but such privilege was not bestowed upon a dying woman.
Miyano Shino knew she would die, one way or another, and she couldn´t wait for it. Her parents were dead, sister killed… The work of her life, or her parents´ life, was a cruel mistake that should have never been even started, not to mention finished, but it was too late to regret it now.
Oh, but how much she regretted.
Every cell in her body felt disgusted by her own stupidity. Even with the treat of being killed, she should have never continued that research. A pill that could kill anyone without a trace shouldn´t exist, and yet Shiho was the one whom made it possible! No one else… it was her. All the deaths it brought, all suffering it generated… it was all her fault, it weighed on her heart, and she just couldn´t keep living. Not anymore. Not without a reason too…
Oneechan was dead, to never come back, never scold her for not eating, never to smile again. And it was, once more, Shiho´s fault. The signs were all there, screaming, but the scientist was too busy with her pointless research! If only she had looked at the truth… oneechan would be alive. They both would be alive, somewhere far from the organization…
But it was too late now. The pain in her bones, heart, head… The end was coming, it was inevitable, and Shiho only wished it came sooner. To be with her mom, dad, sister… ask for forgiveness beg for it even… To see their smile… Oh, how much she missed them.
A pang in the heart, a badly repressed scream. If only it ended… The organization, her biggest mistake, would fall down one day. The survivors of their cruelty would rise and defeat it, once and for all, and when they came to the afterlife, she could great them with a smile, thank for doing what she was unable to do. Thank them…
One more heart beat, and she closed her eyes. Finally, the end came.
