Nikudou Natsumi, Crimson Amarone, Kaggami: BTW, how many words did I just sign up to write? I didn't see anything in the official rules/guidelines. I think we should add something to that effect so people know what they've committed to. Is it a drabble of 500-1000 or a short fic of 1000-3000 or a longer one-shot of 5000-10000? I think the specifics should really be hammered out. And are there any specifications for the drawings as far as medium or a min/max as far as how many characters/how in-depth background should be? I think details like that should be set down before we get started so we know what expectations are and someone doesn't feel put out if they write a 5k fic or draw a super detailed piece and only get a 500 word drabble or a head shot in return.

Hey Mikauzoran, sorry I’m getting back to your question kind of late. We all thought that there didn’t need to be strict guidelines or limits on this event. Since this is an event of gift giving not a contest, we are leaving the output up to individual choice. If the presents don't equal exactly it can't be helped, everyone probably has a different skill level and amount of time to dedicate to these. Especially since the working period is only two weeks, not all people can make long fics or detailed drawings in that time. If there needs to be a minimum word limit we can recommend at least 500 words. Otherwise everyone is free to write as much as they would like. There’s no pressure to write too little or too much. As for drawings, the artists can decide what they want to do and should be able to do the style that they are more comfortable with. We have to trust that the Secret Santa will attempt to draw or create something close to whatever their partner asked for to the best of their ability, whether it includes multiple characters or a background it's up to their discretion.

Okay. Cool. I just think there should be some kind of basic standard in place to serve as a guide. Otherwise people have no idea what the expectations are. I was really hesitant to sign up at first because I was thinking, "Oh, God. What did I just agree to?" Having some kind of idea of what the commitment level is is helpful.

BTW, where are we going to post when the time comes? In this thread since it's already set apart for Secret Santa stuff? Or is Crimson going to create a little sub-board? It might be a good idea to create a sub-board so that we can each have a thread of our own so that it's easier to find our individual gifts.
My own gift is kind of long...5,500 words, and I'm nowhere near done. -.-; So I think maybe a sub-board or something is the way to go, so that people's don't get lost in there with monsters like mine. And maybe we can tag the person whom the gift is for in the post?
Just some ideas.

I was originally thinking here or a new single thread where everyone can post their presents in one place. Keeping the number of boards limited helps with overall forum organization, but a sub-board option might work good if it'd be more organized if everyone creates new threads for their presents instead.
Even a main Secret Santa sub-board with yearly sub-sub-boards could help keep everything organized. So it could be Announcements & Support --- Secret Santa -- Secret Santa Christmas 2015, Secret Santa Christmas 2016, etc.

Yeah, I think we need to break it down a little more than just dumping it all into one thread here. I mean, if any of the other fics are as long as mine is shaping up to be... ^.^; And then if people want to discuss or comment upon the artwork and stories... I'm just afraid it's going to be a horrid mess if we don't break it up a little.
