Hello, there I first saw Detective Conan when I was seven. It was just a glimpse of this strange kid that knocked out a man with an ashtray (OUCH) and proceeded to solve a crime. And I was so fascinated by that scene that somehow it just stuck with me... Until five years later, when I chanced upon the manga for the first time. And found out that he's not a real kid after all I think this pretty much explains why DC is so awesome. This very concept of a genius teen detective with the appearance of a child solving crimes using the identity of other adults managed to draw me in when I knew next to nothing about it. I started writing fanfics at thirteen, though I never posted any of them back then (and I am glad I didn't ). I have only started posting the more recent stories this year. I'm really excited about joining this forum and meeting people whom are fans of this fandom like me, though I probably won't be able to post much, as I have very little free time, most of which is spent on reading and writing. English is my second language, so apologies in advance if I make any spelling or grammar mistakes when posting. ~Nutmegs Bread

Welcome to the forum, nutmeg! (can I call you that?)
Yes, Conan is awesome, isn't he?
What's your native language, if it's okay to ask?

Hey there, Nutmeg! Welcome to Poirot Cafe! I'm Mikau, and it's nice to meet you!
Just let us know if you ever have any questions or need anything. Everyone's really nice here, so you should fit in and make friends just fine. You'll find that we have a lot of members from around the world. I actually think people who speak English as a first language are only around half the Cafe population, so don't worry about making mistakes. A lot of us study foreign languages too, so we know how difficult it can be sometimes communicating in a language that's not our first.
On a somewhat different note: What was that, like, episode three or so with Yoko-chan and the Statue of Liberty lighter? I've always remembered that scene too for some reason. ^.^
Anyway, welcome again, and I hope you enjoy your stay here!

Oh hellooooo..nutmeg/nutty/meggy, in which way I'll call you? Anyhoo, warm welcome to this forum...! And I agree with you, DC is sooooo great. Back when I was 11, I used to see it but for some reasons it stopped airing in my country. Then I grew this fandom by reading fanfics and again grew my anime-love. Don't worry, english too is not my first language, so you're great in the go!

I always loved the smell of nutmeg! It reminds me of these weird things called books! (I picked one up once! It was kind of cool how there were pictures and words! That was how I got addicted to manga...true story!) Joking aside, it's awesome to have you join us! I'm KaitoPhantom1412 (Phantom-kun or KP) I only joined a few months ago so I'm still a newbie, just like you! Your English is pretty good and don't worry about making mistakes! Even people who speak English as a first language mess up on their grammar! (*cough* Me! *cough*)
