My name is (obviously) Tobina and I'm a writer from ff.net, as I think most of you are too. Maybe a short summary of how I came to DC and MK (if you know my profil on ff.net, just skip this part. I'm lazy and just copied it...) I've watched the first run of it in German TV (yes, I'm not a native English speaker, so I'm sure that there will be some grammatical errors jumping into your face if you are not careful ) - I think that was... 2002 and didn't miss a single episode. But then the airtime collided with my workingtime and I had to stop watching (around the end of Season 3) 2012 I stumbled over the show again, as another TV-channel broadcasted it in the late evening - and was addicted to it immediately for the second time. Since then, I've watched all German episodes again, followed by the Japanese ones and all available manga chapters, the movies, other extra stuff and of course Magic Kaito So, now I am up to date and because I can't get enough of the story and the lovely characters, I've started to read fanfictions. At some point I decided to take a chance and try to write a story myself. You can find the results here. Anything else? I don't know - if you want to know anyhting, feel free to ask ^__^ Bye!

Welcome! I'm curious, how popular is DC/MK in German? Cuz whenever I try looking up episodes on Youtube (only for specific purposes. I usually watch it on a different website), one of the first results is always in German. Makes me wonder.

I think it's quite popular, but only the first four seasons have been subbed and I think many fans are getting tired of watching them over and over again. I'm glad that there are the dubbed Japanese episodes out there, though I'm mostly following the manga by now. I think the art of the anime lost much of it's quality... There is a quite huge fandom on conanforum.de (where you can find me as well ny the way) and we still get the subbed movies every year *yes!*

Welcome! Thanks for joining, hope you have a good time here even if you get busy. I don't know the numbers, but it seems like there is definitely a good amount of German fans. I've met at least 4-5 people from Germany. The only other non English natives that I've noticed with more fans involved in the English speaking communities are various Asian countries. Makes me want to learn German too.

I'm fine with Japanese and Spanish. I don't think I'd be able to become qua-lingual, so I probably won't be learning German (my friend is, though). And I'm actually starting to doubt I'll be able to become trilingual. I'm much more interested in Japanese than Spanish, and will probably give up on Spanish when I'm out of school.
Hm, I really doubt it, but would you happen to have the 18th movie yet? Not that I'd be able to watch it anyway . . .

Sadly not, no. We are always a year behind, so this autumn we'll get the 17th Movie and next year autumn finally Movie 18. I'm really excited about it, 'cause it seems to be a pretty good one. On the other hand, I thought that about the latest Lupin/DC crossover movie too and haven very disappointed.

I actually thought the latest DC/Lupin III movie was better than the first one (wait, are there more than two?). Aw. Well, I hope the 18th doesn't disappoint me. Cuz based on the trailer, it's gonna surpass all my other favorites. Even the Magician of the Silver Sky and Lost Ship in the Sky, which are my two main favorites as of now. Well, I suppose Quarter of Silence was a favorite, too . . . I don't know which order I like them in, but let's see if Sniper from Another Dimension surpasses all three. Which movie is your favorite so far?

There are only two movies DC/Lupin III. I had the feeling that they tried very desperately to tick off the usual scenes and jokes. {Spoiler}Like Agasa's riddle (which I don't like in the first place), Kogoro seeming to finally get something right, just to make a complete fool out of himself in the next second... the list goes on. There where just so many of them that it felt like a stringing toghether of scenes we've already seen a houndred times... Whatever - I won't watch it again. My favorite movie so far? That's a difficult one. Every movie has scenes I like and some I don't, but I think I prefer the older ones. The cases seemed to be a bit more thought through and the action-scenes weren't that unbelievable. Is it just me or do Conan's skateboard stunts seem to become more ridicolous with every movie? Not that I mind some decent action, quite the opposite, but he defies gravity. Well, I didn't mean to get so worked up about it, 'cause hey - it is anime and it's entertaining, so I am just grateful that we get the dubbed movies, so I get to hear our german dubbers again (I love Shinichi's german voice!... Conan's not so much - way too high, but that is a different topic ) If I had to pick a Movie to watch right now it would be 'Captured in her eyes' or 'The private eyes' requiem' and I have high expactations for Movie 18 since it involves things connected to the actual manga plot.

Although, like you were saying with Conan's skateboard stunts, there is a part that I saw in a Korean trailer (the Korean voices are weird, but then again, I'm used to Japanese. Hey, at least they're not as bad as the English) where Conan's a bit unbelievable, but it's anime. What are you going to do? And besides, even though it was a bit unbelievable, it was epic, so I'm completely fine with it
