Hey everyone! This is HaibaraDaiFan, which you may or may not have gathered from my username.. It sure has been awhile since I've visited a proboards site. I think it was over six years ago... Things haven't changed too drastically I suppose.
Anyway, that was super off-topic. I think the idea of this board is nice, and I do hope it prospers. I will say that I'm looking forward to honest, constructive criticism and not just flat-out content-less cheer leader comments, if you catch my drift. Sure, they're kind, but I don't feel that they honestly hold any real integrity. Sometimes I wonder if people even read the story. On the other hand, people who review with depth make my day. Knowing that I caused someone to think and react is the most fulfilling moment - especially when they can theorize alongside me.
If you don't know me from fanfiction.net, I write mostly Haibara Ai/Miyano Shiho/Sherry-centric fanfiction. She's always been a character I could both relate and look up to. Pretty strange when you consider the mess I write her in... >.>; Yes, I do lean toward the ShinShi/CoAi stuff, though few of my fics completely pair them.
I have a lot of weaknesses in my writing, my main one being my wish to just spit out the plot for everyone to see. I've always had that problem in my writing, ever since I was writing my first 100-Word-Document-Page story at age nine. My newest fic is actually a project for me to slow down on giving all the points away immediately, though I fear I may have scared people away with giving too little information. Upon reflection, it seems that I've given almost no hint as to my actual plot, neither in narration or in summary. I suppose the title was the only saving grace. I can only hope that I can manage to turn it around next chapter, considering I'm honestly not a fan of the quick mashing of high school Shiho and Shinichi, and this particular story has earned my affections. Despite the fact that I have hardly any of it successfully written.
No matter, this isn't the best introduction anyone's ever seen, but I've grown to dislike typical actions. I hope to enjoy a new community with all of you!
