I remember I posted my reply here, but I think my mobile tricked..god I hafta do that again..! Alright..the thing I wanted to say is..That's a lot of help for explaining the use. Actually I even don't use photoshop, just MS Paint still works for me. Recently though I thought of installing photoshop, but the way you described about Paint Sai Tool, now it looks more convenient for me, since drawing is what I prefer most..Thanks again, Fory!!

glad I could help!! And yeah I would recommend Sai for beginners.. another good thing is you can easily flip and rotate the canvas and it doesn't eat as much memory as Photoshop. And if I can give you a tip, learn the keyboard shortcuts (you can also change them in the options). They are super helpful and make drawing much faster. ^_^

Actually I want to draw the GoshoBoys in Banana costumes :'D They should cheer the holy Banana's god~ *do the bananadance*
U guys should try Mangastudio (in Japan they call it Clipstudio... i think). It's like photoshop combined with SAI. I personally prefer Mangastudio because of its variant of brushes are similar to traditional tools (the pens, the brush, etc) they also provide some screentones we can manipulate~ we can also export the screentones and use it in other app~
Recently the latest version let us color the page we draw like ps/sai. (but mine is not the latest version so everything is beautifully drawn black n white)

hahah I really want to see it.. ^__^
I have Clip Studio too, but it's on my desktop pc (that needs to be repaired.. but I'm too lazy to get it to the repairmen xD) so I didn't get a chance to draw with it much.. but yeah, I heard it's good too. ^^ as for mangas I actually have Comic Studio, but I only used it once, when I think about it.. xD It was so laggy.. The robo Kaito page was drawn in Sai too.

I see~ Manga/Comic studio IS so laggy. I'm not sure why (The size? I think it's smaller than PS. But PS works faster.. odd ) I'm not really familiar with SAI (I only use it to either sketch/color linearts), Can we import pics like screentones and apply it on our canvas using sai?

hmm what format are the screentones? I just used .jpg/.png ones, you can paste them on a new layer and multiply + erase the parts you don't need.. ^^ (I do that with layer masks.. layer masks are awesome. xD)

Wow, your sketches are amazing!! I love this scribbly stile. Every time I tried something like this, it just looked like a mess... -.-** Love how you do the shadows too. I think you are drawing directly on the computer with a graphic pen? I would like to see how you'd draw Shinichi or Ai, even though they are not your favorites. But not as a couple... Keep it up!

Oh.. I think I have to change the format first. I do remember it's not in PNG/JPG but not sure what format it was =___=;; Wait, what does this layer mask do? I oftenly saw it mentioned in several tutorials but dunno what it was... p.s: I just gave my 50th post to you, Fory darling~ <3

You two are so cute. Be careful or I might start shipping you. ^.~
Now both of you go make more beautiful Hakuba and Kaito art. Pretty please?

bananavora: hmm layer masks are a bit weird to explain.. if you put a mask over your layer you can make things invisible with it (like the word implies, it 'hides' parts of a layer, the same way a mask hides a face or something??). If we stay with the screen tone example.. you would normally put a screen tone over (or under) your lineart layer and erase the parts of the screen tone that you don't want to be seen, right? But with a mask over the screen tone layer, instead of erasing the parts, you just make them invisible.. the good thing about this is, that if you don't like what you did later, you can always change your mask again. ^^ anyway this is the mask button in SAI.. you should try it out for yourself. I think that's the best way to figure out what it does.. xD hehe thanks for dedicating your 50th post to me, honey ^//^ and thank you, Tobina! Don't worry too much about how messy your sketches look.. that's the fun of sketching. and yes, I'm using a graphic pen to draw on the pc.. I will upload a small Shinichi doodle in a minute for you. hahah if you ship us, Mikauzoran, I want to be the one topping.. xD *shotttt* and I second that banana should draw more Hakuba and Kaito too. in fact, everyone should draw them

Here a Shinichi for you, Tobina.. I wanted to add Ran at first, but then I realized I can't draw girls, so I drew Heiji instead ^^;; I need to practice the Gosho Girls someday.. and some Hakukai........... *coughs coughs* I'm getting lazier with every picture...

I never knew I could get so much of help regarding drawing..Aww, Thanks Fory (I think I did for umpteenth times, but still find it less.. : Since you explained the great ability of Sai, I'm suddenly having the urge to install it right now..so a question to you- Does Sai have to be used alongwith GT or can be used as single?? And you made my day by drawing these amazing masterpieces, I think I can work with my notorious fever now after seeing these!!

aww don't mention it.. xD I don't mind helping~ I know digital drawing can be a pain so I hope I can make it slightly less painful with sharing a bit of experience haha. ^^ You can use SAI with a mouse too, but .. I've never done it actually. xD You are very limited with a mouse, but you could try it.. I think coloring with a mouse might work (if you draw your pictures on paper and scan it and then color in Sai) but drawing from scratch..hmm I can imagine it being a very hard task. ^^;
and thank you!! I'm happy you like them ^//^ but you should really rest if you have a fever!

Yay! Gosh they look great! I really am enamored of your style. Heiji looks really good, really natural and fresh. And then Haku-chan and Kaito are such cuties! Their hair looks so fluffy and soft! You really breathe life in the pictures, and they look so good!
