Hii! I'm fory ^^ I hope we get along!
I found out about this forum through some fanfics on ff.net. I used to love DC as a kid, but then got into tons of other things, and I'm not sure what got me back into DC 2 years ago all of a sudden.. xD; I think the last one of the Kid specials was airing around that time and I accidently found out about it, and was like: What?! Magic Kaito has an anime?! I was super excited and watched all of the specials. And then watched whatever else Kid-related I could find, movies, OVAs etc. because I couldn't bring myself to watch all of the 500+ DC episodes I had missed...... until now.
I'm currently watching DC from the beginning again, but I can't really watch more than one or two episodes a day, so realistically speaking I will catch up in like one or two years. xD And who knows how many more episodes DC will have until then. But... I've already spoilered myself a great deal thanks to reading too many fanfics anyway. *coughs*
I write once in a while but I hardly ever get to finish anything, that's why I hope the forum will give me some motivation to actually finish some stuff. ^^ I'm more comfortable writing for MK than DC though, because I still feel like I'm missing a way too big portion of the latter's plot..

Welcome to Poirot Cafe, fory! We hope you enjoy! Yeah, with the 750+ episodes DC already has . . . I'd say reading the manga is faster, but unless you skim, it takes a half hour to read the normal three-chapter case. It's fine that you write more MK than DC. Everyone has their comfort and preferences. How much of DC did you remember when you watched MK/how did you feel when you saw Conan at Kid's heists (if you didn't remember much about him, anyway)?

Hello hello, and welcome to the cafe~! Not an employee, but a faithful customer here, haha.
It looks like we're in the same boat, came for the KID and stayed for the Conan~. Oh no, don't spoil yourself! Not that I've room to talk, haha. I wish you a lot of luck on your writing, and can say for certain that the nerds awesome people around here are amazing at keeping you pumped for writing!! Enjoy your stay!

Hello and welcome! I'm Mikau! It's nice to meet you.
I'm with you seeing as I just recently caught up with DC. I had seen episodes here and there over the past eleven years that I had been a DCMK fan, but within the last two years I really buckled down and blew through more than five hundred episodes, making sure I had seen everything.
Good luck with your writing. Hopefully you'll find a source of motivation here. I hope you enjoy the forum; just let us know if you ever have any questions. Everyone here is super cra--I mean friendly. ^.~

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah that sounds like a good idea, although between anime and manga I'm leaning more towards the anime in this case, for childhood memories' sake. xD; Ah actually I remember alot of the introductory stuff from Conan, but I don't know much about the FBI and BO members (besides Gin and Vodka), and there are some other characters like Sera, Subaru, Makoto that came along where I was like.. "huh?" but how I felt about Conan when I saw him again after all this time was something along the lines of "how did I never question that a teenager shrank to a midget thanks to a pill in this show before?" xD But I'm glad it's still running, there are hardly enough mystery anime around, no less a long running one like DC! Enjoy your stay! ~Tiny Hey, thank you Tiny! <3 Yes, especially since Kid is only a short pleasure, with the amount of appearances he has.. xD DC has enough material to last me a while at least! And about the spoilers, I guess that's too late now, although I'm not even sure what exactly was legit and what invented in the fics I read pffft. Hello and welcome! I'm Mikau! It's nice to meet you. First I was playing with the idea of only watching the plot relevant episodes, but then I remembered I never really watched Conan just for the (overall) plot, but because I enjoyed the cases. So I didn't want to miss that! and thanks again, I love them cra- friendly people!

Yo.
I myself did that "watch every Conan episode/movie/OVA" pilgrimage about a year ago. It took me two years (I think) to catch up, though I'm now about two dozen episodes behind. I have a stubborn refusal in me to watch ahead until *someone* goes ahead and subs Episode 753-
And oh, would ya look at that. It's been subbed.
Well, goodbye, ladies and germs. I've got some catching up to do.
(BTW, most of the Anime-Only episodes really, really aren't worth it. If you want, I can give you my personal guide to which ones are the most interesting. It's not a long list.)

And wow, how do you even get the status "God"? xD *hands over some sheeps for sacrifice* Yo. I myself did that "watch every Conan episode/movie/OVA" pilgrimage about a year ago. Have fun watching! (Er, I'm sure you are right about that. Most fillers are pretty uncreative, and with a series of that proportion, I can only imagine the amount of repetitions after a while pffft. I'd love to have a look at your list!)

Heyhey fory!~ Although a bit late in introducing myself, the name's Quincy, the resident crazy-slash-random person who does not know what she's doing half the time but makes everything work out anyways *awkward laugh* !~ *inserts obligatory waving Heiji* Welcome to the forum! We all hope you enjoy your stay, and we should like to see you/hear from you more often Just curious... Which pairing/s do you support for the DCMK forum, and which genres do you prefer to "sail in" often?

I became a god by posting a lot XD Mikau used to be one too but she became wait staff :3 well, I'm gonna do my best to catch up to you, StarlightDragons-sama. xD (btw what do you like to be called?) Heyhey fory!~ Although a bit late in introducing myself, the name's Quincy, the resident crazy-slash-random person who does not know what she's doing half the time but makes everything work out anyways *awkward laugh* !~ *inserts obligatory waving Heiji* Welcome to the forum! We all hope you enjoy your stay, and we should like to see you/hear from you more often Just curious... Which pairing/s do you support for the DCMK forum, and which genres do you prefer to "sail in" often? hello there, Quincy! Oh I didn't know you could use gifs..emotes?..like that on the forum. xD Well you sound like a fun person and I hope we get along! Well, on the topic of ships... (do I even dare write this about a series that's so obviously het...xD) My favourite pairing would be Hakuba/Kaito, but it doesn't necessarily have to be romantic, I just like their interactions. I mean, I love reading fanfics about them being just bros too. ^^ Out of the canon ships I particularly like the ones with the adults, like Yuusaku/Yukiko, Toichi/Chikage, Kogoro/Eri and Takagi/Satou. I've a huge soft spot for adults being dorks. I don't have a particular fave from the Gosho Boys ships, but if I had to rank them it'd be (with only slight differences) Kaito/Aoko > Shinichi/Ran > Heiji/Kazuha > Hakuba/Akako. Although I'm not sure if the last one really counts as an actual Gosho Boy ship, since we haven't seen them interact all that much, and I'm not sure if it's not only Akako and her magic doing wonders there. xD Genres as in what I like to read or what I like to write? For writing I'm more comfortable with light-hearted/fluffy things, but I read just about everything else too. I think the best fanfics are those with mixed genres, I'm not too into any 'one' genre. I would like to throw your questions back at you, what are your favourite ships and genres?

I'm a huuuuuge Kaito x Aoko shipper, started waaaaaay before the MK specials were even thought of (darn that little scene by the clock tower in episode 219) cos they're ADORKABLE . If you stumble upon my ffnet account you'll find more than half my favorite stories are about them. Most of my stories are about them too, until recently when I tried my hand on writing other pairings. I also support HeiZuha and MakoSono. The adult pairings like ToichixChikage, YuusakuxYukiko, ShukichixYumi, TakagixSato and KogorouxEri are super refreshing to watch. I agree with you about what you said with Hakuba and Akako, though. I wish they could interact more... I'm a bit partial about KaiShin and HeiShin and other same-sex pairings, but with a little more nudge from these people here *points at awesome forum people* I might start writing them. As for non-canon pairings, there's Hakuba x Sera (I blame dogfish, Mikau-chan and her "Falling in Love Literally" fanfic for that... not that I can complain, though. It's really interesting), and if we can't consider Mitsuhiko and Ai a canon pairing, then that's another. For the genre, though... I usually shift from angst to hurt/comfort to fluff, humor and romance. I might try my hand on a mystery fanfic once I get my head set (cos really I haven't updated my fics for a long time and everyone's getting old...) O.o You mentioned you found out about the forum from ffnet, so is it safe to assume you have an account there too?

Kaito/Aoko are adorable, I liked their interaction in the MK1214 anime, even though they were mostly bickering. xD They are so tsundere for each other, but Kaito has his moments where he is pretty nice, like on their Tropical Land date or Blue Birthday, or their skiing trip.. or.. many more in the manga. But I really love the anime in general, despite the timeline being all jumbled, and missing some things. The art style is so cute! (ignoring the first few episodes with the long noses xD) HakuKai is actually the only same-sex pairing I ship in DCMK but it just happens to be my favourite too.. But I would probably read your HeiShin or KaiShin if you ever decided to write one though.*coughs* xD I don't know much about Sera except she was the one who dropkicked Kid in that one heist, right? xD She seems like a scary person, but at least Hakuba is a gentleman so he should be safe pffft. Mystery fics are so hard to do, but best of luck if you really try it. ^^ I think I'll stick to writing about the more mundane things in life. (lmao) And yeah I have an account on ff.net (foryiel) but it's more for faving and commenting stories than writing. xD I only posted a HakuKai OS there but it's pretty stupid and not really worth reading. what's your username there?

it's neonquincy1217 aheheh *hides behind a rock* LOL, that is so true. The tsundere moments makes KaiAo worth watching out for... at least for me :"3 You should check out Mikau-chan's Falling in Love Literally fic too. It's WORTH reading I SWURR (lolwhat?)!!! XD Aaaaaanyways, hope to hear from you often! *wink* And now I shall visit your ffnet :3
