So there was talk in the chat box about what DCMK characters' usernames would be, and Quincy suggested CloverKite for Kaito (since, you know, "kuroba" in katakana is clover and "kaito" is kite). And so she inspired me to draw this. It's not done yet, especially if I add Kaito himself into it, but here's what I have so far:

Ooooooh. Is that what you guys were talking about? I kept popping in and out 'cause I was watching the Conan episode, so I totally missed that. I was actually considering what Kaito and Haku-chan's handles would be for a fic I was writing where Hakuba and Kaito are both writers on an original fiction site. I was thinking for Haku-chan, something to do with "Searching", like "SearchingSherlock" or something like that, and Kaito's would be "Pierrot The Fool's Mask" or something symbolic and kind of deep if you think about it.
Anyway, the clover kite looks pretty nifty! I like how you've done it! Would Kaito be the one flying the kite, I'm assuming? I've got this image in my head, though, of chibi Kaito either flying on the kite (think Kirby's Air Ride) or being blown away with it. Chibi Kaito kite interactions are cute. Or he could be hanging off of it like a paraglider! Or...! I'm gonna stop before I give you plunnies.

Yeah, Kaito would be the one flying it. Actually, I think it'd be kind of funny if he was using his hang glider while flying it, yet the kite (which I just spelled as "Kaito" -.-) would be pulling him along (and Kaito would have a panicky expression on his face). Or I could just do normal kite flying (with a few added things, like the Tantei Dan's kite in the Kite Flying Competition in the background).
Oh, also, you think I should do anything different with the kite's tail? I tried twisting it twice, but it still seems too plain.

I think it looks cool so far! If you want to add to it though, maybe you could have a dove holding up one end of the string? Or if you want more for the kite itself, you could put bows or something Kaito related on the string, on after another... Yeah, I haven't even seen a kite in years ^_^;

Oh, oh, OH! Add a hato over the Kaito! (I'll stop with the puns now...)
I mean, you can add a dove perched on Kaito's head or something, as he rides/flies the kite :3

Maybe I'll just have some doves flying around it, maybe one interfering with the string? Also, it has come to my attention that kite's usually have more than one tail . . .
This is one of the five or so fanarts that I mentioned that I need to finish, despite my ideas. Others include Shinichi and Conan and Hajime, Spy Conan and Shinichi, the Mary Poppins one, the shimeji, Depressed Conan, Kaito - excuse me, Raiden - running away from Conan after he showed him a fish (a scene in Conan Suspected), Shinichi in front of the Tardis, this thing having to do with chibi DCMK characters, Mad Hatter Kaito, etc . . . Okay, maybe more than five. And just today I came up with an idea to do something with the Gosho Boys . . .

White-out/acrylic paint on a toothpick! If you intend to color it afterwards, run it through a copy machine, and you won't be able to see the mistake. Alternately... um, sudden crosshatching.

. . . I don't think sudden crosshatching will work on his face . . .

Oh. Yeah, no, probably not. Sudden crosshatching works better on clothes and backgrounds. Out of curiosity, what kind of inking pens do you use? Just ballpoint?

Usually. But for very small areas I use the 005 version of a Sakura Micron (I think it's called Micron) pen.
