Yeah, bad title is a bad reference to a bad meme, sorry. ANYWAYS, this is actually TinyTantei under a new account because I'm a MORON who FORGOT their LOGIN DETAILS. I made an oopsie and logged out and, well, I kind of lost everything. I'll try later to recover the email I used for the account, but, well, c'est la vie for now, I guess. For people who don't know me, yo, I'm Kiril/Tiny/whatever you want to call me. I'm on FFN as Gallifreyan Annihilator and on AO3 as 56leon, but my DCMK pseud is Tiny Tantei. I think my most popular fic is Words Without Voices? I don't really know, and tbh I don't write for KaiShin anymore anyways so it's no skin off my back. I love Kurobot and don't talk to me about him unless you want a massive rant about how Aoyama Gosho-sensei threw away a Good Thing (tm) by not expanding on him more than a single chapter that ended with a robot having an existential crisis and dying before his time. Actually, please just talk to me about him in general. I love Kurobot. He deserved better. Current big project: a 100+1 theme challenge in which Kurobot is reassembled and attempts to start a life where he can exist without being just a "copy" because he deserved better. Talk to me and ask me stuff because I'm a loser who needs constant validation in my life to make my existence feel meaningful.

Kurobot's chapter and Green Dream have always been my favorites. I'm one hundred percent with you. I was extremely upset when Robo Kaito didn't make it into the anime.

Welcome back TinyTantei! I'm sorry, but this made me laugh xD Don't worry, we've all had moments like that. Maybe we should make a thread of random stupid/clumsy/embarrassing things that have happened to us. That could be fun
I'm with you! I've always liked RoboKaito as a character and see a lot of potential in him (first time I've hear of him as Kurobot, for a moment I had no idea whom you were talking lol), plus it's basically an evil Kid with sci-fy abilities, the concept is cool. Too bad it didn't make it on the anime. Vol.2 ch.9 (I am the Master) is another one that I love (just because Kid gets in quite in a lot of trouble and is more humane), but at least we got Green Dream like Mikau says. I think a lot of people like that one, me included, so I'm glad it made it

It's something I haven't really thought about, but I think I get what you mean. As a robot, Kurobot isn't inherently evil, after all, nothing is born either good or evil. Like you said, he simply has no knowledge of the way the world works, doesn't even understand his own feelings. Even if he did things that were 'evil' to Kaito as a human, as a robot this view differs. Yes?
It's something I haven't really thought about, but it sounds really interesting.
Personally, I enjoy picturing him as evil, though. Because, well, I just like the idea of it. I find the general picture of 'another Kid' existing that planned to replace Kaito as the original as something cool, and I also find it cool to see him as evil, or at least give that image. But what your saying also sounds really cool ^^ It looks like you'll have a lot of fun writing this project! =)

No no no, it's actually far more complicated than just "nobody's born evil" etc. etc. and has to do more with his upbringing and his knowledge of the world from the point of view of a replaceable commodity because he has no real experience with things like death permanence or filtered emotions. Also, Kaito is an unreliable narrator and his dialogue in that chapter is used only as a "I'm right and you're wrong" gotcha like how Aoyama has done occasionally with Shinichi because he failed the concept known as "your protagonist doesn't always have to be right" but that's discourse for another day.
Also, and this is no offence meant at all, but I hate the "evil robot" trope (especially when it's used for no other purpose than "this robot killed a guy and now he's Bad) because it's built on the idea that if a robot kills a human for any reason that they're immediately evil and that in and of itself fails to recognize how beautifully complex AI systems are because they're based on their creator species and how, even in humans, mental processes differ drastically from person to person so it's not fair to hold a single, unmovable moral standard to robots that don't take into account the vast spectrum of emotions that humans themselves feel that differ from one another.
TL;DR: Treat Kurobot as a character and not as an emotionless robot 2k17
