Prompt Exchange #8
Prompt Collection: March 5 - Saturday, March 11
Writing: Sunday, March 12 - Sunday, March 26
Details:
So Shihominn sent me a PM with this great writing event suggestion. It's a "Secret Santa"-style prompt exchange! Those wishing to participate:
-Please PM me with your prompt. DO NOT post your prompt in the thread. (Please title your PM as "Prompt Exchange 8" so that I don't lose it.)
-After you have PM-ed your prompt to me, please post in this thread the following: I have submitted my prompt. (Yes, in red so that it stands out so that I don't lose it.)
Fairly simple. By the way, prompts can really be anything. Seriously. "I want some AiCon!" or "An AU where Kaito is a pastry chef." or "The loss of a friend." or "Shounen Tanteidan fight and are on the brink of disbanding." Whatever. It's your prompt. Whatever you want, but keep in mind it has to be K-T (so "DCMK Girls Gone Wild" is not gonna fly) and it has to be something that could be done in drabble length (100-500 words).
So you have until Saturday March 11 by midnight on the Cafe clock to get your prompts in to me and post the "I have submitted my prompt." in this thread. On the twelfth, I will randomize and dole out the prompts to all of the participants. After that,
-You will have until Sunday, March 26 to write a 100-500 word fic on the prompt you receive. (Though, if the prompt inspires you to write more, go for it! This isn't a contest, so there's no strict upper limit being imposed. The minimum, is, however, a different story. Please at least try to write 100 words to do the prompt and prompter justice.)
You can go ahead and post your finished fic for the prompt exchange in the Prompt Fics section of the Fanfiction Library: poirotcafe.com/board/32/poirot-cafe-prompt-fics whenever you get it done. Please include the prompt that you received at the top of your fic.
Please have the first 500 words of your submission posted under a "Work in Progress" spoiler tag at least three hours ahead of the midnight deadline. It's okay to still be working down to the very last minute if that's what you have to do, but you people have been giving me a heart attack about whether or not I'm going to have to disqualify someone for missing the deadline, so now everyone must have the first 500 words submitted at least three or so hours before the midnight deadline just so I know everyone is safe from disqualification and that I don't have to do an emergency fill in for a no-show. Please reach out to me if there's an issue. Okay? Okay. Have fun guys!
Guidelines:
1. Fics are to be 100~500 words (or more if the prompt inspires you).
2. K-T ratings only. (Think suitable for about 14 years old.)
3. No crossovers or spoilers.
4. Must be new material written within the event writing period. No re-posted stories.
5. Have fun and do your best! Challenge yourself!
Sorry I'm a couple hours late getting this up. I've been a sucky mod lately. Real life has just kept me too busy. :/ Anyway. I hope you guys have fun with this! Please let me know if I've made any errors or if there are any issues. I have this nagging feeling that I've missed something.

doctorpeggy: Sonoko could be serious about the most surprising things.

Cesela: "The world ended on a Tuesday" - before Vodka joined the BO, he was a family man.
Ran-dezvous: In honor of International Women's Month: Sera Masumi or any other canonically female character (no genderbending, please); "One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman." - Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex
neonquincy1217: "Gosho Boys in a talk show! Today's topic: Girls"
