No. Only one entry per contest per person is allowed.
Oh well. Let's start listing suggestions for the next theme with optional prompts. Please have your suggestions in by Sunday August 21. The vote will go from the 21 through Saturday August 27. I'll start the new contest on Sunday September 4.

Okay guys. I got the poll open to decide the next theme. Sorry it's a little late. I didn't plan on spending four hours at the art museum again today, but...

Hi Mikau
Just out of curiosity, is there any particular reason why we need to have at least three participants for the voting?

Because one person against another isn't really a contest. It's better to have a first, second, and third at the very least to have an actual "winner".
Since the contests aren't truly blind in terms of which pieces belongs to whom, there's a natural amount of bias in the process. Unless one piece is particularly stellar, we're far more likely to vote for a friend than someone we don't know as well, particularly if we're on the fence about which piece is better. By having at least three entries, this helps diffuse the bias and ensure a more fair contest. That's why I insist on at least three entries.
Besides, it's not really important if there's a vote or not or who wins. The real point of these contests is to get people writing. The vote and the prize are just fun bonuses.

Makes a lot of sense, Mikau. Definitely more fair!

Okay. It looks like we have a theme. I'll get that started...next week? The beginning of September.
I think in the future, we'll limit suggestions to two per person. When we have so many options, the votes get really spread thin and everyone wants to do something different. I think it would be better to have fewer options to vote on so that more people vote for the same thing. I'm glad that three people liked my "Haunted" suggestion, but I want to make sure we're picking themes that will inspire more than just three people.
