Thanks Mikau! And North Central College? Hm . . . What other things to they have there? Cuz I was thinking the Japanese would be a minor rather than my major.

Pretty much everything. It's a small school in Naperville, but they have different science majors, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, (they may have some classes in Korean by now too. They were working on that when I left.) English, Psycology, Philosophy, Bussiness, Communications, some Phys Ed stuff, Math majors, computer majors, Art, uh what else? Oh! Duh. East Asian Studies. And really affordable study abroad programs in like fifty countries. Theatre! I forgot about Theatre! Literally everything you could be interested in studying. Oh! Education majors too. Just no medical majors. It's worth checking out.

I agree with just about everything Mikau said about the special. I couldn't understand most of the dialogue since 1) they were talking normal speed, so it's fast for me, and 2) I don't know too much Japanese yet. But I was able to get the gist of everything and really enjoyed it!

I just watched it and it was really enjoyable. This special really was Haibara's time to shine xD (Although the truck scene really shocked me) But my Japanese is limited so there were some parts that I did not understand. Hopefully things will be clearer when subs come out. I especially liked the way the special was structured with flashback.
It seems the movie 19 teaser was really directly after the special (as if Kid was watching the entire thing happen from a computer screen)

I know, right? Oh yeah, and Mikau, Shinichi was in it. Just as a flashback, though

I understood a phrase or such every now and then, but most of the details flew over my head. however, I got the general idea, and I really loved that Haibara finally got to do something. on the other hand, whoever cut the scenes (coughexplosionscoughTRUCK) is a troll and I was so anxious for most of the special XD {spoiler} gdi conan WAY TO TRICK EVERYONE ONCE SUBS COME OUT I WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID MISTER admittedly that was rather disappointing and the whole Shinichi thing was so frustrating because poor Ran has false information on the other hand, Haibara's scenes were amazing and I loved that Ran gave no poops and just knocked the gun and the guy out of her way XD

Well, at least you got the gist of it. ^.^; I guess I was thinking that since I only had to look up one word that it was really easy to understand. I should be used to it by now I guess; whenever I think that something having to do with a language is easy, it usually isn't as easy as I think it is.
Oh well. It was super enjoyable, though, right? I'm glad everyone found it okay!
I guess "Shinichi" technically was in it in that flashback, but since he didn't say anything, there was no Yamaguchi Kappei-sensei for me to fangirl over. Seriously my favorite seiyuu ever besides Takayama Minami (I loved her work as Asakura Hao in Shaman King and FMA's Envy!) and Hayashibara Megumi (Shaman King's Anna mainly). Is it any wonder that I love this show so hard?

. . . I'll never be able to watch FMAB (or start watching FMA) ever again . . . Or at least not the same way . . . *sighs* Conan's Envy, Shinichi's Inuyasha . . .

I know what you mean. Hahaha! I just finished watching Danga Ronpa with my brother today, and Yamaguchi Kappei voices one of the characters...a very fat otaku. I don't even remember the character's name (Yamada maybe?) because I just referred to him as Yamaguchi Kappei. Sigh. And the main "villain" of sorts, Monokuma, was voiced by Doraemon. I tell you, once you get used to a certain voice actor in a certain role, it's just plain weird to hear them do other things. It completely changes how you perceive the character. It's good to hear familiar voices, though. I really wish I knew who did Kondou. He had a good voice.

I know, right? And with how long DC's been going, it's doubtless that you'll get used to the main characters' voices . . .

I agree with Mikau-chan. Badass Ai-chan is badass XDD And the truck scene homaygahd that was intense O.o What else, hmm? Yeah, Ran was a little annoying, there's only a bit of Shounentanteidan exposure... but Ai-chan pulled through and made everything awesome! {not really a spoiler...} it's just, I got my hopes up after seeing Cafe Poirot, but never saw Amuro-kun in the end *sigh*
LOL, I agree with everyone. Once you get used to hearing one's voice in one character it feels kinda weird hearing it in another character (happens all the time with Minami Takayama and Envy, Miyano Mamoru and Hakuba and Ryoga and Ichinose Tokiya and Light and... etc) xD

So today I stumbled upon the movie that "The Disappearance of Edogawa Conan" was based off of, "Kagi Dorobo no Method". It's English title is "Key of Life". It was actually really terrific! The hitman Kondo goes to a bathhouse and slips on a bar of soap, hitting his head and actually getting amnesia. A broke actor, Sakurai take the opportunity to assume Kondo's identity. Things get a little crazy when Sakurai discovers what Kondo does for a living and is asked to do a job as Kondo. Kondo recovers his memory, and together Sakurai and Kondo try to get out of the mess.
It was really funny and yet touching at parts. I really did enjoy this movie. I actually got it from the library (I'm currently working through their Japanese stock for listening practice, so I totally picked this up by accident, not knowing what it was), so, if it's not online, you may be able to get it (in the US) anyway. It was released by a group called the Film Movement. Apparently they release foreign and indie films to the world at large.
Anyway, now I feel like I have to go back and rewatch The Disappearance of Edogawa Conan now that I've seen the original movie. The plots were completely different, but there were some scenes and situations that I remembered as having seen in the Conan special. Also the characters Kondo and Kanae were in there too, so I kind of want to watch it again. I feel like I watched it in the wrong order, so now I have to go back and catch up on the things that I missed. ^.^;

It's good to hear familiar voices, though. I really wish I knew who did Kondou. He had a good voice. Although, to be fair, while Yamaguchi-sensei might not have been on purpose (even though there were a few callbacks/hints to his earlier roles), Monokuma's seiyuu was chosen on purpose, to have a really....demented? feeling to it. Spike-Chunsoft wanted to take a beloved childhood character and (kind of) force them into a much darker, twisted role. It was supposed to be weird. There was a good analogy that it would be like if they had taken the voice actor for Mickey Mouse and made him voice Monokuma in the English dub. (This was very late.)

Hahaha. It is a little late, over a year later. ^.^; I'd forgotten I'd said that. My brother told me what you said about Monokuma being on purpose, though. Hahaha. It's still super weird! ^.^
