ANNOUNCEMENT!
So we're trying a new length out instead of the 10k Competition to see if we have better participation this way. Please note the modified guidelines regarding length and the inclusion of a word count; otherwise I'll have to bug you, and I hate doing that. -.-;
And feel free to send in your feedback! We'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions so that we can create contests better suited to your needs.

The word length sounds great to me!
Although, when I first joined Poirot Cafe, I was not expecting to write so much, if at all! But the plunnies keep coming! I have an idea (or two or three) for a story that fits so well with this theme! I really want to just spend several hours staring at my computer screen until the words come, but the rational part of my mind(not the the fangirl part) is like:'Um. School's starting. They bumped up honor roll requirements this year. Mom's been bugging you about the chores. You have so much studying to catch up on. Are you sure you should be doing this?'

Sounds awesome!! I missed the last challenge, so I hope I have time to submit a piece in this one. I'm always slacking off and procrastinating to the last minute. XD

I'm gonna see if I can finish this before school starts. Might be my last entry for a while, so I better crack down That aside, though, my mind is screaming AoKai, but my heart is once again screaming KaiZuha......?

Ehm. I just joined the society half an hour ago. I already have a story befitting the parameters of the promp. I posted it on ff two days ago though, am I still allowed to enter the contest with it though, or must I write a new one?^^"

Oh right. Sorry. I didn't read the specifications thoroughly. Guess I have to come up with something else!

Now this sounds doable, since sometimes we're plunnied during the ungodly times, heck, sometimes even at the last minute *glares at plunny*

Sooo, seeing as how the deadline is in ten minutes and we have no entries yet, I'm going to assume we're not going to have a vote this time. I'll check back later just in case, but my family is about to have dinner so...
Anyway, we're going to give this 6-8k Competition another go round at the start of next month, but we want you guys to help come up with a theme and optional prompts.
If, over the next week, you guys can toss around possible themes accompanied by three optional prompts each, I'll start a vote next Sunday. Please and thank you in advance!

Aw, that's too bad. I liked this theme; I just jumped in too late to write anything for it. I'll see if I can think up some prompts.

Here are my suggestions.
Warmth: physical or emotional closeness, being feverish, heat from a fire for used camping and cooking
Orange: the citrus fruit, the color, the poison used by the US to deforest Vietnam during the Vietnam War
Speak: to converse vocally, speakeasy-style bar or lounge, a suffix for the jargon of a specific field or language
I swear I wonder where my brain pulls these out from, as well as what have I been smoking without knowing...

Hopefully those will fit. :/ There's a character limit for voting options. I may have to condense so they'll fit. Thanks for your suggestions!

Alright, some prompts (again, I apologise if these have been done before):
1) Mirror: to reflect, double, imitation. 2) Kismet: fate, karma, what is to come. 3) Improvise: put on the spot, theatre, to salvage

No problem Mikau! Condense them if you can; I know I'm generally way too wordy.
