I just wanted to make sure that people are noting the word limit. It's 3,000 for this contest. At first I thought that maybe that wouldn't be enough, but I was able to keep my own story (which I thought was kind of a big idea) within the word limit, and we all know how I do tend to go on and on, so I think 3,000 words is a good, appropriate length for this contest.

Just a reminder that entries are due this Sunday. This is a fairly short word limit contest, so there's still time to participate!

I have an idea for the drawing done by neonquincy1217. So, hopefully if I have enough time and inspiration, I'll be able to enter.

You can post it anyway, but that would only make two entries total. Looks like the first writing portion is a bust this time, but maybe we'll have stronger participation next time around. Should I come up with the new theme for the second drawing portion so that you can start that up at the start of October?

KaggamiWell, typically our competitions start on Sundays. I would suggest October fourth. And here's the theme I came up with: A Game of Chess. And then the optional prompts would be: a lazy afternoon with friends, head to head with a rival, and desperate struggle. What do you think? The "game of chess" is mostly figurative, but the participants can take it as literally or figuratively as they wish. Some of the things I was thinking about were the DCMK gangs hanging out and goofing off like actual teenagers for the first one, rivals like Hakuba and Kaito or Conan and Kid facing off for the second, and then Shin-chan's battle against the Organization for the last one. Do you think that kind of concept works? I thought it would be a good opportunity for some group pics. ^.^;
