I've done it. I've finally created a Pets board. And now let me start it off with a funny story:
I've been complaining about wanted squid for the past six months or so, so Mummsie picked some up for me when she found some at the super market. I was just eating it, and, sure enough, Eiko and Noiz came to beg. They do it so politely too. They come and they sit and they look at me with expectant faces and guilt me into sharing. I held out some on my chopsticks, and they gingerly took it after sniffing it profusely to make sure it was okay to put in their mouths. And then they spit it out (my precious squid!!!!) and promptly began to roll in it! Both of them! Like it was some kind of perfume! My SQUID!!! Both of them! x.x
So...it was interesting. And I'm glad I only gave them a little bite.

Yeah. You know how dogs find dead, gross stuff in the yard and then roll in it? I forget why they do that, but both of mine dropped the squid on the floor and rolled in it.

Google has reminded me that one theory dates back to wolf times. It's instinctual. Wolves roll in stuff to mask their own scent for when they hunt. It could also be a way to share with their packmates where they've been and what they've encountered on their adventures.

I used to have two dogs before we had to move from the house to the apartment. Before that we had other dogs as well (five in total over the course of 22 years), most of them have been girls.
I really, really miss having a dog though. Growing up with them and then not having one makes me feel so empty and I really hope that maybe next year we can ask our landlord about getting one.

Many years ago, I used to own two doves. They even laid an egg and had a baby dove. They were given to me by a friend of my parents who was a magician. I wasn't a DCMK fan yet back then and now I feel so much regret. I could've pretended I was Kid and trained them (ultimate cosplay) D: They have all left this world now.

I've so wanted a dove recently . . . Were they white as well?

aww D: that would've really been the ultimate cosplay, haha.
I've got two fish, one "mine" and one as my sister's. hers is rather sluggish, actually, and mine zips around a lot in comparison. Strange thing, once when they went without food for a short while (I apologized profusely to them) my sister's fish was more sluggish but stayed the same size, while mine shrunk a lot. a lot a lot. O.O

We used to have so many pets in our house at one time that it seemed like a zoo. At the moment though we only have two chickens, two white budgies and our crazy cat.

I love Eiko. She's tearing apart one of her rubber squeaky toys right now, and she's putting the pieces that she's ripped off already into a neat little pile to the side so that I can easily clean up after her. My daughter and I, we have a system!

D'aww I wish I can have a pet too, a dog like I used to when I was little, but people in my house are either asthmatic or just plain hates fur. I can try having rodents again but my brother installed this anti-rodent and cockroach device so that's out of the question. Neither do we have space for a fish tank so yeah... I should probably get a place of my own for me to even think of owning another pet *sigh*
Also, that's so interesting! Dogs really do that? Ooooh, we learn something new every day!~ ^_^

My children are really smart, and Eiko and I are a lot alike, so she and I especially work well together. Noiz is the odd man out, but he's such a sweetie pie, and he listens to his mommy, so we're all good. They're still really young, despite being so big (eight months and already sixty plus pounds), so they're easily trainable if you work hard with them. It's all about positive reinforcement. And occasionally threatening them with the squirt bottle when absolutely necessary.

Your children sound adorable, Mikau ^^ And they're only eight months old? So are they technically still puppies? Wow Yes, Natsumi, they were white doves. I think they had been trained by the magician (though I never really tested that out)
I really want to have a pet that I can play with again. Now I have two aquariums and a turtle. My turtle is currently in hibernation so I can't play with him -3- But I'll have you all know that he is a very fabulous turtle.

Hahaha! That is a fabulous turtle indeed! I love the sparkles.
Yes, my babies are still pups. They're part Basset Hound, part Anatolian Shepherd. Bassets typically get up to 50 pounds which Eiko and Noiz have already surpassed. My kids a good deal taller than Bassets too. Anatolian Shepherds, on the other hand, can get up to 150 pounds, and they can take anywhere from one and a half to two and a half years to reach their full size. X.X Biiiiig babies. Eiko and Noiz are already at 60 pounds (we weighed Noiz yesterday, and he was 64.4 pounds), and they're still growing. It's a good thing we have a nice big yard.
Anyway, my kids are awesome. Sometimes they're a little ridiculous, but aren't we all at times?
It's a shame that you didn't take full advantage of the doves when you had them. :/ Maybe you can get some again sometime. That's super cool that you had some, though.
