OMG Shaman Kiiiing!~
(I dunno what it is about ice wielding kids I find really attractive... That said... OMO HOROHORO!~ xD)
Yeah, whatever happened to Shaman King? The last I heard they had a manga series with everyone aged 21 or something, and Ana and Yoh having a kid... or something...

Hahaha! Yes, the anime and the manga are VERY different. Spoiler alert: Hao becomes the Shaman King. Hao Asakura FTW!!! It's another one of those cases where the anime came waaaaay before the manga was finished, so they had to make stuff up...and they got it very, very wrong. Hao is far more sympathetic in the manga. At the end anyway, but the manga is super sad and disturbing and everyone dies but then comes back to life, and I might just have to re-read that now that it's completed.
Shaman King Flowers started coming out a few years ago, but I never followed it. I started reading it, and I remember this one scene where Hana (Anna and Yoh's son) says something like "Oh my God!" or something, and then Hao shows up saying, "You called?" It was beautiful. Okay. So maybe after I catch up with the DC manga I need to invest some time in the Mankin fandom once more.

I haven't really read or watched Shaman King before but it sounds interesting ^~^ And for some reason Quincy reminded me of Hetalia XD by far the weirdest anime ever. I tried reading the manga once but it was impossible to tell what was going on.

I tried watching the anime, but then I forgot about it. Guess it didn't interest me.

Oh my gawd! In that case I should really get started with reading the manga. I wondered what happened to Hao in the anime after that explosive thingy in the last episode cos it looked like they killed him off wth xD
But then again if it wasn't for the anime we wouldn't have those awesome songs... :3

Yeah. They totally killed him off in the anime. :/ The manga totally redeems him as a person. It becomes more about rescuing Hao from his tormented past and his misunderstandings (and himself) than the "Defeat Hao!" direction that the anime went.
And the anime didn't have that awesome scene where Hao and Yoh meet to have coffee together. Just saying. The manga had parts that were just bizarre, but I really did enjoy it.
Oh. By the way, HAO ASAKURA IS VOICED BY TAKAYAMA MINAMI!!! That was the first time I ever heard Conan's voice. That was back when I was twelve/thirteen. So, yeah. Good memories. And you're right! The music was really awesome too. I loved the character songs. I still have Hao's on my iPhone.
And Anna is voiced by Hayashibara Megumi! That was the first time that I had heard a lot of DC voice actors, so watching DC after that was weird at first for me. Now I've come to think of the voice's as belonging to the DC cast, but at first they were all Mankin characters, and it was very strange that Hao was now the undisputed protagonist.

Okay. I think someone mentioned Kuroko no Basuke. I kind of want to watch it, but...the animation style...the way that they draw the muscles specifically...bothers me. For some reason. But it really bothers me. I don't think I've ever seen actual muscles like that in a sports anime, funny enough. Usually most of the characters, especially the main one(s), are fairly skinny and usually little now that I think about it. Prince of Tennis, Haikyuu!, Whistle! (what's up with the exclamation points?)...
Okay. Back on point. Question: is Kuroko no Basuke actually about basketball, or is it like most sports anime where it's about friendship and love and working together to overcome obstacles with obvious gay moments for the fangirls thrown in there? Because then I might invest some time in it. I don't think I want to watch an anime that's actually about basketball, though. Thanks!

I have no idea but I assume it's about the latter. I mean. otherwise it would just be silly.

Yeah. I doubt it's actually SERIOUSLY about basketball. No one does that. Even if they actually play the sport, it's never about the sport, though there's always one or two characters that take the sport way too seriously. I'm thinking since the characters all have color names that match their hair colors, this is probably the later with copious amounts of self-shipping. It's always more convenient that way.
Speaking of things that I need to rewatch (even tough that was a couple posts ago about ManKin), Kyo Kara Mao. I was fourteen when I watched the anime the first time, back when I had no idea that BL anime/manga existed. Looking back, I have to laugh at myself. I was so cute and naive! It took me, like, the first twenty episodes to figure out that I was supposed to be supporting Wolfram (spell?). It's really laughable. I feel the need to go back and properly appreciate the work. And ship YuriWolfram. *Shakes head at little fourteen year-old Mikau* Silly child.

Mikau, you read "Whistle!"? I'm not really a sports person, but that was one that I decided to read. Cuz, you know, soccer. Shinichi.

I know, right?! I read it back last world cup. No not 2014. The one before. I've always loved soccer. I played when I was little, and my best friend in high school was/is a huge soccer fan. I actually think Shinichi had a big role to play in my continued like of soccer just how he inspired me to read A Study in Scarlet when I was fourteen which led to a lifelong obsession with Holmes. And kind of how Kaito inspired my love of magic. Actually...man. DCMK has really played a huge role in shaping me and my interests over the past literal decade. O.O Wow.
But yes. I read Whistle! and it was super special awesome. I generally like sports anime (not Eyeshield, though. :/ I wonder why? I started reading the manga, but...maybe there was just too much actual football. Maybe I'll try watching the anime. Hm. Or not). Right now I'm crushing on Free! (Again. The exclamation points! How have I never noticed this before?!) It's so funny and just...it ships itself to an embarrassing level. On so many occasions it's just like, "Kiss him, Rin-chan!"
Ahem. Yeah. I like sports anime. I honestly find the actual sports pretty interesting too. ^.^;

Okay. I think I'm gonna do it. I'm going to watch the first episode of Kuroko no Basuke! After I finish this chapter of FLL that Quincy inspired me to start. Hakuba and Sera started talking about the Org and Conan's identity, though, so things got longer than intended. :/ Oh well. It's good stuff so far, I think!

Ikr? The only school games I go to are soccer ones, because of Shinichi. And I started reading Holmes because of him too XD As for magic . . . I've always liked the idea of magic tricks, but I've never actually tried doing them before. Sorry, Kaito. My brother has, though.

*comments on KuroBasu* It's adorkably gay in a good way! and there are a lot of CV people who crossed over from TeniPuri so it's all good to me. The presence of Hosoya Yoshimasa's and Suwabe Junichi's voices (TeniPuri's Shiraishi and Atobe, respectively) don't help at all, and Kuroko #2 (that darn dog! XD) is like Olaf in a basketball jersey (I dunno what I just said).
Ah, but still, I feel like it's a little hyped up. If Prince of Tennis is Dragonball Tennis (as dubbed by fans cos WHO ELSE IN THE WORLD KILLS DINOSAURS WITH A TENNIS BALL?), then Kuroko no Basuke must be Dragonball Basketball!
For me, though, if it's basketball anime, I still prefer Slam Dunk over KuroBasu. One thing I look at when watching anime is its unique sense of humor (that's how I fell for TeniPuri and FMA [the first one] at the first place) and a clever twist of drama amidst it all...
Aww, now I'm curious about these gay sports anime that keep popping up (Yowamushi no Pedal, Haikyuu!, Free!, Whistle!) Yeah, what's up with the exclamation points? Are they trying to start a trend or something?
